Zoe Garbett - Green mayor for Hackney

What do we know about Zoe Garbett (Hackney’s new Green mayor) in the context of gender identity politics? I assume she must be full on TWAW or the Greens would have ex-communicated her/Walter Titty wouldn’t be seen with her, but is this correct?

As well as running for Mayor, Garbett ran for re-election as a councillor - and won both elections, but since she can't do both jobs, a by-election will have to be held. I'm surprised that this is even allowed, but it certainly suggests that wasting taxpayers' money is not a concern for her.

This is common practice and has happened in other councils.

But what hasn't happened but has happened in Hackney and one other Council is (I think both) Green Councillors elected only to find they are barred from standing if a paid employee of the Council concerned. A teacher.

Luckily the Zack army would recoil in horror at posting on MN, and they’re not particularly well represented among those already here.

There's one poster on a thread about him who thinks we're all nuts not to think that Zack will be leader of this country soon!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/05/2026 14:25

Half arsed protest voting is about as far as it goes.

Look out, it'll summon the Zack army who are currently swarming Dan Neidle for daring to look into all that stuff about his council tax

I was half watching the BBC news at six last night and an item on Walter Titty and council tax came up.

There was a voiceover and some clips of him - one of him with a microphone and all the others of him embracing various women.

Is someone at the Beeb trying to hint at something?

That's interesting. I wonder if Green councillors will get a similar kicking at the next set of elections once they become the incumbents and are blamed for local problems.

Who knows.

In the UK we seem to go in these cycles.

At the last GE Labour got in because all those who had previously voted Tory just didn't vote so Labour got in on a smaller vote than Corbyn's "resounding defeat".

So at the next local elections if by then the Green's have messed up or in fact not made a difference locally, it will probably be the same as now. How do people feel about Labour nationally - if they are still the Government - and if not too bad maybe Labour would get back in.

Its like voting is always a step behind.

Or for the Tories 2 steps behind as they are not only being punished for Boris' Covid hypocrasy, but for Brexit.

I think most are ignoring what is the most likely reason Hackney went Green.

To get Labour out.

Most interviews on TV and Radio news, not just Hackney, were all motivated by giving national Labour a good kicking, even if their local Labour councillor had been okay.

So the idea that everyone who voted green has signed up to even the green part of the green agenda (if there is is a green part) or any of the other Green statements is just pointless.

Even Waltham Forest went green. And I dont think anyone predicted that.

Haringey also had the majority votes for the Greens, but no overall control.

This is just London doing what outside London is doing in voting Reform.

Getting rid of Labour locally because Starmer and national Labour are so despised.

(edited to add one man interviewed in WF even said he never read a leaflet, didn't know anyone's names, just ticked the Green boxes.)

I was listening to the News Agents podcast on Birmingham City Council. There is a Gaza Independent that called Zack Polanski a ' deviant', and the Green group has said they will not work with them. The Greens nationally are absolutely delusional if they thing the hardline Muslims they have embraced like Mothin Ali don't think the same. His wife certainly knows what a woman is when shes shrouded head to toe in black. I think it's absolutely correct that they think they are there to educate the silly Muslims into believing in Trans rights and realising God doesn't exist. Good luck with that!

This is what will ultimately destroy them.

the pro trans groups and strict religious groups can be united by homophobia. In Iran, it is illegal to be gay but sex change surgery is permitted and probably used to convert poor gay men to “women” who are then acceptable partners for rich gay men.

This is absolutely what is happening in Iran. They have the highest number of gender reassignment surgeries in the world. Its not because they are so trans inclusive. Its Gay conversion therapy. The Lefties who are applauding this don't want to mention this obvious fact.

They really believe that all the practicing Muslims that have joined the Green party will eventually 'see the light' and go against centuries of religious doctrine and agree that men can be women? I mean, that seems very unlikely. And why are people like the Muslim deputy leader of the Green Party going along with it and happy (ish) to stand next to what, in their religion, is someone that is exhibiting grossly offensive sexual behaviour? Are they really fine with it? If not, why are they pretending?

I just dont understand how such diametrically opposed people - ultra liberal hard left socialists and enthusiastic practitioners of a religion that has very firm and rigid segregation between men and women and what they are allowed to do, can band together in one political party with common aims. There must be an agenda at play.

Yes didn't Zahra Sultana say she was campaigning for Palestine to be a Secular socialist democracy? Sounds pretty imperialist to me to impose your Western Socialist atheistic ideals onto a foreign country?

Sheesh, the usual tropes, lies and made up on the spot statistics in Zoe's biography there. TW 57% less likely to visit the doctor than other people? Pleeease!

I thought the whole point of hypochondriacs was to effectively camp in the GP surgery. And the trans condition is nothing if it's not hypochondria.

I would have thought they spent significantly more time with the GP than most! Back when I used to lurk on TransUK Reddit there were a lot of posts about seeing the doctor and giving each other ideas what to say in appointments!
