I live in Hackney. Have friends who voted Green this time who have no idea how mental the Greens are on sex and gender identity

I think you will find the Jewish community is Hackney is very active, and in the parts of Hackney with the highest % consistently vote Diane Abbot back into office.

Obviously within that community there are different beliefs and religious practices, so not sure you can ever use the MSM manipulative idea that somehow the Jewish Community is a monolith.

Just as in voting for a Labour MP doesn't stop the fact that the few Tories who do get elected to the local council from that area are more likely to be Tories.

I think the back peddling is that they have stupidly continued to think they are still students, they have handed (just like the scarf nonsense) the opportunity for those who want to have a go at the Greens something to go on about.

In reality, the issue was already on the council agenda because since Covid, if not earlier the "twinning" basically didn't exist.

So I suppose it just shows the Greens are using their control of the Council to virtue signal to a group of people who already support Green policies, and not caring about what 99.9% of the borough thinks are the most pressing issues.

(Dont think this is unique to Hackney Greens but a lot of media people live in Hackney so easier to write a report about that one borough rather then do more in depth research.)

Hackney's got a big orthodox Jewish population if I remember? I think there was something about how they generally don't vote.

This is fantastic from Polanski. We know where the left really do stand on this. The SC ruling and ECHR advice is both a clarification of the law, and common sense. And we see the identarian left as a pure populist movement, not interested in the greater good, but its own narrow sectarian interest.

The Mayor of Hackney, Zoë Garbett, and stars from Tip Toe also attended the press conference that revealed Trans+ Pride would end in Trafalgar Square for the first time in its history.

Polanski and Garbett both rejected the new code of practice initiated by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) which states that come August 5th, a service must be used exclusively on the basis of birth sex in order to qualify as a single-sex space.

Polanski said: “By August 5th, Andy Burnham has an opportunity here as a new prime minister to say we’re not going to do this.

“It’s pretty grotesque what the government has done with the EHRC guidance.
“Despite the amount of MPs who signed the Early Day Motion to say during the consultation that we need to reject this guidance, they’re still going ahead with it – there’s no need for this guidance to come into place by August 5th.”

They run my local council. I've emailed those named as being present, plus Zoe G, named Ann W, David Amess and Jo Cox and asked why they feel that attendance at such an event was appropriate/sensible.

So, we've gone from the "ordering" stage in the last couple of decades to the now "pleading" phase. How things have changed, and how utterly useless these people are.
If the likes of Garbett had spent 1% of the energy they extended on silencing and belittling women instead on finding rational solutions, imagine what optimal outcomes could have been found.
Instead she was happy to prolong the trash culture war to the zero sum game it became.
Now, to plead for the SC ruling to be ignored, how pathetic.

Let alone the fact that as a Mayor she doesn't seem to understand this is now the law.

Or is she yet another one who thinks when a law doesn't fit their view of the world she and everyone should just ignore it.

Where does it say this? I have looked at the equality impact assessment and can’t find ‘physical risk’.
