Suzie Eddie Izzard

I used to love Eddie Izzard's comedy when he was actually funny. I have a boxed set of his early shows and found them well worth regular re-watching. His really important declaration of "I don't wear women's clothes, I wear my clothes, they are mine and I wear them" was exactly the right attitude - clothes do not have a sex or a gender, anyone can wear anything they like if they are meeting local requirements for what should be covered to remain decent (so yes there are limits, but nothing wrong with anyone of either sex wearing a dress if they want to). Unfortunately his descent into utter misogyny has curdled that enjoyment and I can't bear it any more. The sexism of thinking that femaleness is a costume that a man can put on for his personal kicks is just vile. Associating some parts of the spectrum of human feelings as "girl mode" and some as "boy mode" is disgustingly sexist. There are no feelings that are limited to girls or limited to boys, sex is a material reality not a feeling. I wouldn't watch any of his stuff if you paid me now.

Edfie used to be perfectly happy as a transvestite for years now he's like all the others jumping on the sick trans bandwagon. Him and I are the same age so I remember.
He used to live near me and Id often see him out running training for one of his marathons. When be is out running he does not wear boobs or a wig or anything indicating female so he can obviously switch back to man whenever its convenient.
I cant do that because Im a woman. I have to suffer the swinging boobs and everything else being a woman involves.

We know that fetishes escalate. It can appear to an outsider that, as this happens, the other things that make up a person's likes, dislikes and the different facets of their personality diminish.

It is almost like a war inside that person, where one thing wins and grows, the rest is losing and shrinking.

Yes, with his brilliant humour, he used to be quite an attractive man. I saw several of his shows and spent the whole time crying with laughter.

The polar opposite to how he appears now. And it takes all the humour out of it.

Every single time I see Eddie in lippy and a dress, I'm reminded that I actually fancied him in The Riches (which was a bloody good show BTW). Shudder.

He was in a tribute programme to Scots comic and Panto dame par excellence Stanley Baxter the other night.

Is there no objective truth any longer? Anyone & everyone is exactly what they claim to be. Children are adults, adults are children, education & experience are simply a matter of imagination? Suzy / Susan absolutely a girls name that won't come back now (sorry just merging with another thread on names). It was like a go to name for Stephen Fry to use in his show with Hugh Laurie. Some supposed inherent comedy value?

If anybody watched The Floor (rather gripping quiz show hosted by Rob Brydon) recently, the quiz element is to identify the people, places or things in a particular category from the pictures on the big screen.

One of the categories was 'comedians' and one of the pictures was Eddie. The contestant said "Eddie Izzard" and the 'correct' bell instantly sounded and it moved on to the next one - BUT the answer as confirmed on the screen said 'Suzie Izzard'.

Interesting how nobody was outraged or shamed for 'deadnaming' or whatever other 'transphobia' could be hurled at them. Eddie knows full well himself that his very unusual surname does a lot of the lifting on his behalf. It's the convenient elephant in the room that allows him to blatantly deny that there is any elephant there, whilst still fully benefiting from everybody knowing the obvious truth. If he'd been a famous person called Eddie Jones and he was now suddenly going as Suzie Jones instead... well, I highly doubt that he would, as nobody would have a clue that it was anybody well-known.

Eddie was slways just a normal transvestite. I remember the early days because we're the same age. He was funny and dressed really well. Had long nails and high heels but gorgeous clothes. Didnt try and be a woman despite the makeup.
Now however he's jumped on the trans bandwagon and he's just another ugly woman face. Shame.

The problem is that, with Eddie, it's getting very hard to tell which crazy things are 'jokes' and which crazy things he's deadly serious about.

I used to love Eddie Izzard, he pointed out that he wasn’t wearing ‘women’s clothes’ because he had bought them, so they were just his clothes. Seeing him running those marathons, with his nails all glitzy, I had mad respect.

Then he decided he was actually Suzie. Fuck off. No.
