Either that or the police intimidated the victim into retracting her claims for the sake of quelling the riots.

'they now believe the woman concerned "sustained an accidental head injury" following a night out and made "a confused report".

Being gangraped is hardly the sort of thing a woman would get 'confused' about. This is absolutely outrageous.

A church built with stone. There is a sign in front of the building.

No rape took place outside Epsom church, say Surrey Police

The force says the woman concerned had injured her head on a night out and made 'a confused report'.

Surely they looked at CCTV, perhaps physical examination, bruises, rape kit at the hospital after?
I can't see the police lying on this one, sorry. It's too big.

The amount of 'people' in here condescendingly 'wishing her well' while also condemning her by insisting that the police are telling the truth is so vile

They're not "condemning her". The police are not saying she is lying. They are saying she was mistaken. Remember she agreed to them putting out this statement.

Why do you keep trying to push a version which is simply not supported by the reports? If anything is vile, that is.

The fact that most attacks are carried out by "white British men" doesnt cancel out the illegal immigrant attacks. If they werent roaming free at the taxpayers expense the attacks wouldnt happen.

The victims should sue the government t

Illegal immigrants aren't "roaming free at taxpayers' expense". The clue's in the term "illegal immigrant". No illegal immigrant receives benefits, for the very simple reason that, if they were stupid enough to try to claim them, the moment they claimed their status would be known and they would be arrested and deported.

Ah so the message is.. “women!!! If you will insist on being raped.. get it on camera or clearly it hasn’t happened!”” ?

Don't be silly. The point is, as I understand it, that if the account given by the woman was true, there would have been evidence on camera - not necessarily of the attack itself, but of the men in question approaching and leaving. For example, if cameras show a number of men going down a particular road, and then there's a long pause before they continue their journey, that would tend to support what the woman said. If cameras don't show men in the area, or shows them simply passing through without stopping, it would tend to suggest she was wrong.

Plus, of course, they don't claim to be relying on that alone. They have made forensic investigations and house to house inquiries, and have interviewed witnesses. If the evidence gleaned from that indicated that no rape had taken place, then again that will, absolutely validly, carry weight.

So you think that this woman purposefully gave her self a significant head injury, other injuries indicative of violent sexual assault, because she’s a nasty racist to get asylum seekers into trouble?

Where did the poster say the woman injured herself? The police are saying she had a head injury and was probably confused as a consequence.

PILEALLTHEPILLSONTHEFLOOR · 23/04/2026 21:02

Why do you think they're not?

Having known quite a few of them, mainly because they'd be more than happy to have the anti immigrant narrative going.

Medical and forensic investigations do take place of course, every time. It is the first thing that is done in a case of sexual assault.
My mother works as a doctor in a sexual assault centre, for cases just like this. The victims are usually not even allowed to chance clothes before they are examined, to maintain as much evidence as possible. The medical examination is very thorough (which as you can imagine is often an unpleasant experience for someone who's suffered a sexual assault, but it is to make the conclusions as reliable as possible). Sometimes the doctors have to go to court to testify their conclusions.
The police may not have released the exact details, but rest assured the examinations will have taken place.

I know I (we) don’t have the right to that information, I was just saying that to form a form opinion either way , the result of such an investigation would be useful. We decided no attack took place … based on what? Just their word? Those days are long gone. I like facts.

Presumably they checked CCTV, etc rather than just pressure the alleged victim into staying quiet so they don’t have to bother investigating?

The report sets out that "extensive examination of CCTV footage, house to house enquiries, interviewing witnesses and forensic tests"." And I'm sure they did. That sort of claim would be far too easy to disprove if it were untrue.

Fedupofthisgame · 23/04/2026 23:35

I know two people personally who have lied about rape.

First, said she was gang raped by 3 black males in an alleyway. Went through a medical examination the lot. Her phone was seized. Medical exam and her phone examination and whatever they found meant the investigation was no further actioned.

Second. Fell out with her boyfriend and claimed to boyfriend she was raped in a car by a named person and also reported to police. Boyfriend beat him up so badly he was in intensive care. She also went through a medical exam. They looked at both her phone location and suspects phone location cctv etc. she wasn't even in the area of the alleged rape and nor was the suspect. She later claimed she lied becuase she was scared her boyfriend would be unhappy she didn't go out with him that night. She served prison time for pervert the course of justice.

Some women do lie. Yes most of us just can't understand why and why they'd got through all
these intrusive processes but some do.

Beforield beat hi

I’d like to know if a medical/forensic investigation took place and what the findings were before I form an opinion. At this moment in time though, the police statement is highly suspicious.

@PoppinjayPolly you’ve stated that she had injuries suggestive of sexual assault . What evidence do you have for this?

Curiouser and curiouser.

This bit struck me as interesting in the recent BBC report on immigration. Could the police have sat these ladies down and said words to the effect of ‘the likelihood of us even charging a perpetrator is somewhere between 1.4% and 2.7% even with video evidence a then you’ll have to go through the courts and in order to get compensation you don’t need a conviction so do you really want to go through with this?’

He also never faced rape charges, as she changed her mind about whether to support a prosecution.
But Aisha was awarded more than £17,000 by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority meaning they judged that the sexual assault she had alleged was more likely than not to have occurred.

Not necessarily the police. Some Rape Crisis centres offer independent sexual violence advocates for any woman who reports, and I can absolutely imagine an ISVA making sure a) that her client knew what the odds of a conviction were, and b) that CIC awards are decided on balance of probability. I'd even go so far as to say that an ISVA who didn't make sure her client knew that wasn't doing her job properly.

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 23/04/2026 23:15

I faint, frequently. During the faints, I sometimes lose consciousness. During the blackouts, I can have very vivid and convincing hallucinations.

It is not beyond the realms of possibility that this woman's head injury caused a vivid and unpleasant hallucination that she believed was real and then reported to the police. This wouldn't make her a liar, but someone whose brain malfunctioned for a while.

Something strangely similar happened in October in Oxfordshire. A reported gang rape, church yard, lone woman, and then apparently it didn't happen afterall. Very confusing.

JemimaTiggywinkles · 23/04/2026 23:04

I don’t believe “I know three men who’ve been falsely accused” and I don’t believe “no women ever wrongly allege rape”. Both are ridiculous extremes that only the most biased people believe.

I also don’t believe police are automatically good people. There are good ones and bad ones. Most are medium (like the rest of us). The way I read this is that evidence you’d expect in this area (physical on her body, cctv from the area etc) doesn’t support the allegation of rape and the woman has accepted the police closing the case. I hope she’s getting support.

PoppinjayPolly · 23/04/2026 22:58

St Mary's Church is a large brown building with green space in front, and around it.

'No evidence' of reported rape in Banbury churchyard, say police

Police said they were "not currently seeking anyone" after the reported incident in Banbury.

Because the media cover these crimes linked to migrants disproportionately when you consider the majority of such crimes are committed by family members or those known to the victims = white British men

I get trust in police is low but facts matter and conspiracy theories are unhelpful and just perpetuate disinformation and further mistrust

If there is a failed victim here, I hope she reports Surrey force to the police police complaints commission but otherwise there's no evidence of a crime no matter how much that doesn't suit summer people narratives

Trouble is, thanks to the reticence of the government on this, we don’t really know what the figures are.

One snippet was from an foi where of the 7677 gang rapes recorded in London 2010-2018, 82% were by men not recorded as British.

Obviously there are lots of other types of crimes but gang rape is particularly brutal and creates an atmosphere of fear.

Countries in Europe that are ahead of us in their number of immigrants have published data and there are certain non European countries from where there is a much higher number of violent and sexual crimes per capita than others. We also have a lot of migrants from those countries.

I think if the government is confident that there is no additional safety risk to the public of their immigration/asylum policies, they should just publish the data and put all of our minds at rest. I’m sure it would save a lot of problems.

PoppinjayPolly · 23/04/2026 22:51

I don’t think have ever come across a mn thread with so many posters with the “yeah but women will make up rape” analogies!

Kickinthenostalgia · 23/04/2026 22:49

We will never know if it’s true or not, but the truth is there are women that cry wolf over this type of thing. I used to know of 3 women that did cry wolf over something similar. Which honestly doesn’t help those women who have truly gone through the horrible ordeal.

People are entitled to their own opinions. I generally veer on the side of the woman and if it does turn out to be a police cover up at least it will get a hell of a lot of attention rather than being swept under the carpet.

But presumably for example there’s at least a doctor who did a rape kit. Do you think they’re involved in the cover up? What about potential witnesses that live within eye sight of the church or the path the woman and her attackers would have taken? It would be more than just the police involved in such a cover up and all it would take is one anonymous source to start posting details online.
