STONEWALL REVERSE FERRET INCOMING

So, it looks like their income tanking might have finally made them see that trans rights is not quite the gravy train they thought it was. They are now pivoting to getting compensation for gay veterans who were badly treated. And apparently JKR is a wonderful lady, just needs to be a wee bit more kind.

‘Things could go backwards’: Kezia Dugdale on safety, LGBTQ+ rights and the future of Stonewall

It's going down predictably well:

https://www.reddit.com/r/transgenderUK/comments/1stivrq/statement_from_kezia_dugdale_responding_to_the/

"There's imperfect allyship and there's praising the most famous and arguably most dangerous transphobe in the world in highest tones."

Purity spiral punishment.

EmpressaurusKitty · 23/04/2026 15:37

Well, it’s a good thing we never took her seriously.

ArabellaScott · 23/04/2026 15:36

'From Kezia Dugdale, incoming Chair of Stonewall:

In my first interview as incoming Chair of Stonewall, I was asked a question about JK Rowling. In answering, I should have been absolutely unequivocal that I would never condone behaviour from anyone that seeks to or causes harm to anyone in our community. That is a red line for me and should be for all of us. I understand the interview has caused worry, anger and upset and I am truly sorry about that.'

Oh, I'm sure the trans activists won't mind, Kezia! They're famously tolerant and kind.

That page is nearly five years old. It may be the first of many, but if so the others are running a bit late.

Hadn't noticed the date! Thanks. Disappointing, but perhaps more will come through now. More likely, Stonewall will eventually just wither and fade away. One can hope.

As a side note, the University of Essex were somewhat annoyed at the shite advice they got from Stonewall -

Wouldn't it be great if Stonewall was sued by one [or more] of the bodies who had judgements against them because they followed Stonewall Law and not The Law?
I've no idea on what basis, but it's an entertaining thoughtGrin

The University of Essex turns on Stonewall

This week the University of Essex published an open apology to two female professors who it had no-platformed in December 2019 due to their gender-critical views. The university also published a full report replete with recommendations and future actio...

Isn't Allison Bailey still pursuing action against Stonewall?

If I remember rightly she had lodged a request to the Supreme Court to hear her appeal against the dismissal of her appeal in the Court of Appeal of the EAT's decision to dismiss her appeal from the ET's decision that Stonewall were not guilty of inducement.

I would pay good money to watch some of those court cases!

They really don't know anything, do they?

But to minds as small as theirs that probably looks like the size of a cello. 😂

There are now multiple threads on trans uk Reddit about this, declaring that Stonewall have always been anti trans & wanting them banned from Pride because trans people would feel unsafe.

Oh dear.

Oh dear. Let me get my teeny, tiny violin... I had it here somewhere...

You are probably right, @EmpressaurusKitty .

I too am old enough to remember them as such a positive and admirable organisation, strong and determined in the face of AIDS, and of all the homophobia that ramped up on the pretext of AIDS.

I would never have believed they would have become something so negative, especially for lesbians. Possibly even without the trans bandwagon their corporate drift (and the drift towards male exhibitionism?) would have undermined them, but nothing like so catastrophically.

Poor Stonewall. Like a detransitioner whose mates all turn on her, because her regret raises a flicker of horror in them that their own medicalisation might have been a detour not a cure.

I wouldn’t give Stonewall the credit of feeling regret for having done the wrong thing. I’d think they were most likely to be doing whatever they thought would keep them afloat.

When I came out, late 90s / millennium, I volunteered for them, donated & bought loads of their stuff.

I’m never going to forgive them for betraying lesbians & if they end up hated by both sides & unable to keep going it’s only what they deserve.
