So, it looks like their income tanking might have finally made them see that trans rights is not quite the gravy train they thought it was. They are now pivoting to getting compensation for gay veterans who were badly treated. And apparently JKR is a wonderful lady, just needs to be a wee bit more kind.

Exactly. I would almost have more respect for them if they stuck to their guns and went out shouting TWAW to their dying breath. That would at least show that this folly was based on principle rather than following the money. But no, when the gravy train stopped rolling they changed their tune

I don't think that's what OP claimed the article was? Stonewall are never likely to actually change their position to something sensible. The point of this is that stonewall are minimising their previous extreme position and contribution towards a culture of abuse of women like JKR who spoke against trans ideology. The motivation will be entirely financial. It's a cynical political move.

Even as a cynical political move, it would be rather nice to have organisations stop normalising the demonisation of feminists and other people who voice an unauthorised thought on free speech or women's rights or medical issues.

That makes sense, thanks.

I don’t see anything especially hopeful in that article. She may be being a bit politer about JK Rowling but she’s still talking about grey areas & meeting in the middle. Nothing about respecting women’s right to single sex spaces or being lesbian or gay being about sex not gender identity.

She voted for self-ID in Scotland and is still in favour of it. So despite this PR guff nothing has changed.

Possibly, but

in 2022 married Jenny Gilruth, a Scottish National party MSP who is the Scottish education secretary.

Others will know better what is happening in Scottish schools.
