FWS , one year on - media coverage

I thought it would be useful to have a thread focused on the media coverage on the anniversary of the ruling. I am glad it's back in the spotlight, and I hope Bridget Phillipson is feeling the pressure today for her woeful lack of leadership.

Just watched this from Sky News app and felt it was very trans, trans, trans for the first few minutes. And how they’ve been inconvenienced by the delay. It gets better later on but that relies on people who can be bothered to watch an 8 minute video.

They also never address this issue honestly. If this hypothetical TW actually passes, there will be no issue, will there? At least when out in public with strangers, who don't already know he's trans, he can use the women's facilities and won't upset the women and won't get challenged. The problem is that people can actually tell the difference between men and women, even after surgery and hormones.

The batshit Kate Nevins, at a hustings I went to recently, told the "sad story" of a transman she met who was anxious about toilets as she now had nowhere to go, since she would scare the women in women's toilets. Again, I thought, if this person really looks like a man, no-one in the men's toilets will know, right? Less charitably, I thought, FAFO. If you other yourself, it has consequences for how far society will accept you.

They think it's a gotcha and that it throws doubt on how we, as a society,.can possibly have single sex spaces. I sigh every time I hear a presenter make that argument.

The a good Law Project, telling some fairly outrageous fibs:
