Younger generations being pro trans

PeachyDaisy · 10/04/2026 05:22

I know many are saying the trans debate is over, but I think it has only just begun. And the reason is the younger generation. Studies show young people are the most supportive of transwomen going into women's spaces amongst all groups. In 20 years, these people will be in positions of power making decisions where they can enact their beliefs.

Also most of the western world has fallen to trans ideology (which activists will use as credibility for their ideology). I don't buy the argument that as long as it is just in EU/Australia/CA/ NZ then it is contained.

Having the laws on our side and sex matters fighting is great, but it feels like little consolation if we have to spend the next 50 years constantly in a court room suing organisations as they continue to to flaunt the law. It is like wack a mole, you stop one stop one organisation from doing it whilst another one pops up.

It depends on the individual child and on their age imagine. Younger children are more susceptible to believing what their teacher tells them, whereas many teenagers might well ( and do) roll their eyes when their teacher is clearly trying to push a political agenda. But not all.

Edited

One of my primary-age children wouldn't believe me over the teacher on an obvious factual issue... DC had spelt a word incorrectly in a spelling book (and differently, 3 times 😂) and the teacher ticked all 3 as correct! I told DC that these were wrong, and tried to show them the word in the dictionary, but they wouldn't listen to me or look at the dictionary as "teacher ticked all my spellings".

’Give me a girl at an impressionable age and she is mine forever.’

Muriel Sparks, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

Which, looking at it now, was a prophetic novel about the destructive influence of teachers and one we might have taken lessons from. See also Dead Poets Society.

We've known for decades that charismatic teachers, when left unchecked, are powerful influencers.

Yes, teachers can be powerful influencers for good - if they stick to their subject and to the overall encouragement of a child's natural talent or ability - less so when pushing political agendas that they should not be.

I find it a little sad if adolescents are believing in a brainwashed and uncritical way what their teachers tell them.

I don't think anyone my age did that! We used to joke that the way to make some ideology unpopular was for it to be forced on us at school and that Mein Kampf ought to be a set-book so nobody ever wanted to read it nor took what it had to say seriously.

And if a teacher had tried to push an ideological line at us we'd've said "yes miss" or "yes sir" and paid not the blindest notice to them.

I am only on this toxic board because I was kicked off reddit

I don't think this is the place for you, @PeachyDaisy As for Bitch I don't need your support. You can get fucked for all i care - if you came here for debate, that's not it and you're the one who's toxic.

I think people need to let this go. OP felt attacked and responded with a harsh post. She immediately edited it to remove it and later apologised for it. We’ve all done and said things when cornered and she tried to remedy it, but for some reason it has been resurrected and shoved down her throat several times. Doing that has just inflamed the situation.

There have misunderstandings on multiple sides over individual motivations and where they stand. There are clearly hemispherical differences (OP is in Aus, we are mainly here in the UK) that mean we are seeing the issue at different stages of its evolution.

Many people on this thread are quick to point out that the TRA’s are the ones who throw abuse and names - but this is being done here, between a group of women who have forgotten that we are all allied in many of the same goals: of trying to push back against the pernicious creep of gender ideology, as that term is currently understood; the intrusion of men no matter how they identify into our spaces; the erosions of the rights and protections of women and girls; and the protection of vulnerable young people and children who may be autistic, gay or have other vulnerabilities that have been manipulated by a cynical and self-serving movement.

That is what we need to focus on. And in this space we help scaffold other women/parents who are trying to understand and navigate this - we can’t do this if we are hostile to each other and not willing to draw a line under misunderstandings and disputes.

So a plea: please can we just draw a line here and be there incredibly supportive forum I have come to rely upon, where incredibly well educated and informed posters ( @Helleofabore 🥰) who take the time to post and share research and links that can help newbies and the permanently confused [moi] to a better informed space.

That is what we do best. Please let’s support and lift each other up, not tear each other down. 🙏

Hi all

Just a reminder... If a thread isn't for you, there's no obligation to read it or post on it - just scroll on by.

We've had to remove a number of posts, so we're hoping that the thread can stay on track from here.

I’m not sure whether anyone noticed this post, but I think this thread is in danger of being removed.

This might be a good time not to get carried off chasing scurrying gerbils (or squirrels).

My mid 20s child university education is full on TWAW my 18 year old is full on penis = male no your not a lesbian with a lady dick your a man! My youngest has zero clues about any of it and would probably cluck like a chicken if asked

I think the shine is dulling in my local area we had many many "trans" children who are now 18 and suddenly its not cool anymore when they go to college and work its just too much effort one girl was a boy when it suited her college knocked that out of her she tried the whole im non binary no-one cared its hard to be a cool kid when there are cooler kids around

I'm an ex teacher too...but I'm still not sure if you are referring to a particular group of children?

i don't think it is the kids that push trans ideology, I think it is the activist teachers ( of which there many) and their own 'right on' parents ( Jolyon Maugham, several Labour MPs etc); as well as on line groups and influencers.

You know, I was happy to apologise and leave it but you have doubled down and called me, or at least "people" of whom you imply I am one, a liar when as your own post quotes, I did not say you you said you were happy to allow this to happen.

In fact I said you said you were despairing - literally the opposite of happy.

You are rapidly losing any moral high ground here. I suggest you stop digging.

Well you said I was prone to despairing and giving up and letting TW have what they want. That is a completely untrue. I have never ever said anything about giving up the fight and just "letting TW have what they want". In fact, I am an active member of the women's rights network in Australia fighting hard for women's spaces.

I am only on this toxic board because I was kicked off reddit for being gender critical (I can send you a screenshot if you need to see my GC credientials).

You started this by targeting me by name with claims about my character, you didn't need to attack me (I've never mentioned you before). I appreciate your apology but frankly I would rather this be done.

Given that TW want to get into womens spaces then yes you are saying I am ok with letting TW into women's spaces (or that at least I am no longer objecting to it).

Again, it was an incredibly rude thing to say and just a downright lie as I have never said I was ok with TW in women's spaces. I'm only making a point of it because I'm tired of people lying about things I never said or making nasty accusations on some kind of purity testing witch hunt they have going on.

Ironically, I didn't say you "said I want men in women's spaces". That is your paraphrasing and actually misrepresents me.

So you see even for you it is easily done to misrepresent someone (I won't here go as far as you did and suggest a deliberate lie) trying to make your point.

But that's beside the point. I have apologised and I'll take this exchange into account when I see your more pessimistic posts, so more than happy to leave it here.

HEPI "A BREED APART? WHAT DO YOUNG UNDERGRADUATES THINK OF CONTROVERSIAL AND DIVISIVE ISSUES?"

https://www.hepi.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/A-breed-apart-What-do-young-undergraduates-think-of-controversial-and-divisive-issues.pdf

https://www.hepi.ac.uk/reports/a-breed-apart-what-do-young-undergraduates-think-of-controversial-and-divisive-issues/

The data:
https://www.hepi.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/A-breed-apart-polling-data.xlsx

p6: Transwomen and transmen
The questions were:

Q6. Do you think that biological males who identify as women should be allowed to use women’s changing rooms?
Question 6: the responses were:
Yes: 31% (male 26%) (female 33%) (16-19 - 29%) (20-21 - 32%)
No: 55% (male 63%) (female 50%) (16-19 - 58%) (20-21 - 53%)
Don't know: 14% (male 11%) (female 17%) (16-19 - 13%) (20-21 - 15%)

Q7. Do you think that biological females who identify as men should be allowed to use men’s changing rooms?
Question 7: the responses were:
Yes: 34% (male 31%) (female 36%) (16-19 - 34%) (20-21 - 35%)
No: 52% (male 58%) (female 47%) (16-19 - 53%) (20-21 - 51%)
Don't know: 14% (male 11%) (female 17%) (16-19 - 13%) (20-21 - 14%)

Comment from the report:
When asked for their views on the changing-room facilities that transwomen and transmen should be expected to use, roughly one-third of students say people should use the changing room assigned to their gender identity while one-half disagree (presumably assuming they should use the facility assigned to their sex at birth or a gender-neutral space). Although we asked about transwomen and transmen separately, the results were similar for these two groups.

In contrast, a 2026 JL Partners poll for Sex Matters found just one-in-five (19%) adults think people ‘should be allowed to use whichever facilities they prefer’. In the same poll, over one-third of respondents said people ‘should use the facilities of their sex at birth’ (36%) and another third said ‘they should not use facilities of the opposite sex but there should be an alternative’ (34%).

These results suggest students may be a little more favourable than the public overall towards those who wish to use the changing facility for their gender rather than the one for their sex at birth – but it is notable that both a majority of students and a majority of the whole adult population pick other options.

Most of the answers from the 18-24 year old age group for the Sex Matters March 2026 research are not far off this.

The question was: A transgender person is someone who says they are the other sex, that is, a person born male who identifies as a woman, or a person born female who identifies as a man. How do you think transgender people should be accommodated in toilets…

They should be allowed to use whichever facilities they prefer (18-24 yr age group responded):
At work - 38%,
In gyms and leisure centres - 30%,
At university - 30%,
In a bar or entertainment venue - 33%,
In public toilets - 30%
In hospital - 30%

# They should not use facilities for the opposite sex but there should be an alternative (18-24 yr age group responded):
At work - 38%,
In gyms and leisure centres - 42%,
At university - 35%,
In a bar or entertainment venue - 32%,
In public toilets - 33%
In hospital - 32%

# They should use the facilities of their sex at birth (18-24 yr age group responded) :
At work - 18%,
In gyms and leisure centres - 21%,
At university - 23%,
In a bar or entertainment venue - 26%,
In public toilets - 28%
In hospital - 28%

Unsure. (18-24 yr age group responded) :
At work - 12%,
In gyms and leisure centres - 12%,
At university - 12%,
In a bar or entertainment venue - 12%,
In public toilets - 12%
In hospital - 11%

I think it is safe to say the majority don't believe that male people should be using female single sex spaces (over the age of about 8 years old, of course). It is a minority who believe this and each year that minority reduces more and more.

As an Australian, I am confident that it will be rolled back in my lifetime, because it is completely unsustainable, undefinable and the government has over reached itself. It might take time, but the momentum is building. I watched the same momentum build here in the UK.

I can't promise I won't ever disagree with you or not say when I think you are being surprisingly unenthusiastic about the likelihood of rolling back Genderist overreach, but I can promise going forward I will be informed by the additional context you have given me about your perspective and why you may seem to sound pessimistic.

Thank you acknowledging, hopefully this doesn't happen again.

But you are upset and angry, and I respect that is how you feel. As I said, in this case I'm very happy to have been wrong.

@PeachyDaisy If you live in Australia I can understand why you are depressed.

In the uk operation "let them speak" has been very effective. Young people's attitudes to trans ideology have become less permissive (source opinion polls) over the years. Now it's easier to challenge in schools it should get even better.

It was the incongruity of certain posts that made me notice them. It was only after a few I realised they tended to be the same person.

So it's great to hear you aren't giving up. That you do genuinely believe this madness can be rolled back and are continuing to fight even if it will take longer than any of us would wish. I'm very happy to have been wrong.
