I reckon this BashBack business is going to backfire

Thinking about the overreach, the threatening behaviour, the way that Glinner getting arrested made a lot of people go "What the hell?!" and think again...

We on here, and our ilk, know what these men are like. But out there, not so many do. So if they do start showing up in force to things, damaging property and screaming at women, the rest of the world will start see what they're like.

It's all a bit more of the Project Sunlight and #letthemspeak really, isn't it?

Not to mention the damage that the FoxKillah is doing to his reputation (if that were actually possible), by publicly supporting them...

I heretofore dub them Bash Backfire.

I wonder if Lord Walney is aware of the material on terfisaslur?

MrsOvertonsWindow · 26/07/2026 20:58

Wow. A powerful article from an influential person. Worth noting his comments about the group's failure to withdraw any of their violent literature following Ann Widdecombe's murder.

In this paragraph he highlights how the behaviour of trans extremists has escalated over the years to the extent that threats of violence against women and girls (as demonstrated repeatedly at this weekend's trans "pride" ) has become the norm:

"Political violence does not begin with an assault. It begins with the creation of an atmosphere in which intimidation is normalised, opponents are dehumanised and supporters are encouraged to believe that extreme measures are justified.
That is why the conduct of the militant transgender activist group Bash Back deserves far more serious attention than it has so far received".

Excellent!

Maybe it identifies as a Trident?

How dare you mis-gender it! It’s a forking hammer!

Grammarnut · 25/07/2026 15:52

I spent a happy hour (sort of) disputing biology with TRAs on another platform last night. I got a bucketload of hatred. My ID there is different - had those I was talking to known what more about me I know I'd have got a lot more vitriol. TRAs are unhinged - and their knowledge of biology (and philosophy) not rudimenary so much as completely insane.

Grammarnut · 25/07/2026 15:43

Forresty · 07/04/2026 23:39

Has anyone noticed the very wrong claw hammer, though 😆

No doubt it identifies as a non-AI hammer 🙄

That would be funnier if it weren't so threatening.

Maybe it identifies as a Trident?

It has been archived, but not fully. So I took some screenshots.

It is really sweet that even hammer-wielding advocates of terrorist violence are wedded to the pedantry of giving unnecessary acronyms in brackets (FSU), even to the extent of tolerating double brackets.

The revolution may not be televised, but it will be drearily jargonised.

moto748e · 24/07/2026 17:12

Well Iran is pretty keen on transing away the gay, so maybe Hamas feel the same, I dunno.

Woah. This thread is blowing my mind.

So concerning all round.

Apart from the main obvs points, I'm really unhappy at this being cast as 'left wing'. I really don't think wingness is an accurate indicator here. I think we are due a move away from it even as a descriptor anyway. I had always considered myself left wing but I find it too binary (ha ha) now.

Also what's with the linking it to Palestine? or are other posters suggesting they are using the 'Palestine action' model as inspiration?

'Palestine!
Trans Rights!
Same Struggle, Same Fight!'

(no, I have no idea either 🙃)

WrongKindOfFeminist · 24/07/2026 15:39

Somewhere in the hell of my screenshots folder I will have copies.

WrongKindOfFeminist · 24/07/2026 15:38

Over on X, it is noted that Jolyon Maugham had several links to Trans Bash Back, as shown on his (now deleted) Bluesky account.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/07/2026 15:28

I imagine that’s one set of “freedom fighters” they look to for inspiration.

JellySaurus · 24/07/2026 15:09

That image has been niggling at me…and suddenly I know what it reminds me of: IRA posters and murals. Only then the weapon would have been a gun. Similar tactics? Only attacking those who ‘deserve’ it?

moto748e · 24/07/2026 14:47

To many tiresome people these days, 'everything' is linked to Palestine . And ZIONISM. 🙄

Glamdalization, what’s that? Going round making things look more glam?

I think it's American for glamdalism.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/07/2026 13:32

Well done! 👏

I think the UK bash back website should be archived too. Especially the bits that are here

It has been archived, but not fully. So I took some screenshots.

Spot on. I think the reference to human beings is very deliberate. They may feel it gives them deniability but it will be seen in company with dehumanisation of ‘terfs’ so what it is really saying is it’s fine to be violent towards the non human, ie women who disagree with them.

There is really no way you can plausibly claim you are an organisation committed to non violence and use imagery like that hammer picture.

Yes, I think it’s plausible deniability. Not sure anyone would find it particularly convincing tbh.

'Investigators are considering whether leftwing, anarchist and single-issue terrorism (LASIT) played a role in the suspect’s alleged motivation'

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/jul/14/ann-widdecombe-killing-police-investigating-possible-leftwing-motivation

My son was asking me this morning if I had kept up with Ann’s murder. He then went on to bemoan the fact they are saying the murderer is left wing. Then went on to compare it to some unrelated shit in America.
I am proper old school left wing, not this new fangled student level of politics. And I can accept the murder was political and the murderer was extreme left wing. It doesn’t make any difference. It was a cold blooded murder of an elderly lone woman. I like this LACIT thing. It’s about bloody time. Now investigate the masked invaders of women’s meetings.

The Bash Back instruction PDF [I'm writing it that way as a gesture of opposition - they actually have a style guide which says it must be BASH BACK in all capitals😀]
explicitly says 'we do not harm human beings' so that would be an argument against a direct link to radicalisation through Bash Back.

Obviously, that's what they say, and obviously 'harm' is open to interpretation, but it's fair to say that BB do not advocate murder.

The 'terfs aren't human' rhetoric has been going around for a long time in some circles though.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 23/07/2026 16:11

JellySaurus · 23/07/2026 14:47

But how do they define ‘human beings’? After all, for TRAs words mean what they want them to mean, not necessarily the accepted meaning that everyone else understands.

The balaclava clad figure wielding a huge hammer says otherwise unless of course BashBackFire is actually a construction company 🧐
