So @AidaP what is the difference between a man without a trans identity and one with a trans identity that makes one safer to be in female spaces? They are both male right, so why does one get to access female spaces and one not? Surely the fact that males with a trans identity want mixed sex spaces shows that they are not afraid of being in spaces with males.

Lawsuit is the answer. Incidents that happen carry no civic responsibility, and the only way to now not get sued is to go fully unisex for NON EMPLOYEES. Employees, it gets a bit more complicated.

And every developer in the world would rather just pay a bit more extra to make the unisex spaces, than to deal with unknown amount of lawsuits later, easy way to derisk.

And I also to a point agree with you that this makes everyone less safe from men but hey, you guys keep cheering when laws that remove the safer way gets enacted because you are so focused on transgender people that you forget about the actual danger, which is cis het men responsible for almost all of those crimes.

Council know that mix sex is more dangerous for women and girls and more 'incidents' are going to happen.

How can the initial set up costs of smaller rooms with doors and signs be a cost factor given the ongoing cost of pools and leisure centres, plus the cost of having to report said incidents and help with police investigations?

Exactly, and it's very easy to do that with the set up they have. It's a complete bunfight for changing rooms during after school swimming lessons, despite the amount of changing rooms.

The 'silent majority' of where? The silent majority of people who disagree that male people should be included in any way in a female single sex provision? The ones who keep coming up consistently in polling around the world saying that male people with transgender identities should be included in female sports, prisons, toilets, changing rooms etc?

Converting all the single sex toilet cubicles to fully enclosed rooms with sinks is never going to happen. These are single sex designs.

The only other way is to change the Health and Safety legislation, Building Regulations and British Standards and revise parts of the Sexual Offences Act. But that requires arguing against health and safety.

It is really clear, isn't it.

All I see when I see this post is a misogynistic determination that if female people don't consent they get what they deserve. I am sure that you thought about this before posting though, so I can only assume that it is deliberate and you want women to know that this is what they deserve for saying 'no'.

Did I hear toilet talk?!

Changing room partitions have gaps from floor-to-door and floor-to-partition because of drainage and chlorine (rotting them) and ventilation to prevent mildew etc. The space above the doors and partitions is for ventilation and economics - many leisure centres have tall ceilings with mechanical ventilations so no prospect of raising the partitions up to the ceiling. There’s no way of getting rid of the gaps without causing problems with cleaning, drainage and ventilation.

Of course, the advantages of having door gaps are that when people collapse they can be attended to quicker eg. Cardiac issues after swimming. It also helps to prevent misuse in toilets and all sexual activity is illegal in a toilet used by the public.

With toilet cubicles, only single sex toilets leading on to a single sex area can have door gaps. That has been confirmed by the Health and Safety Executive. I can prove these designs are safer and more hygienic in toilet provision.
