It's strange, isn't it? They really can't keep her name out of their mouths. Very baffling.

You mean truly equal like women start killing their intimate or ex intimate male partners at a rate of 2-3 a week?

No I’m going more down the utopian route.
what if there was no vawg? How would society look then?

Shedmistress · 31/03/2026 08:42

butterfly231 · 31/03/2026 08:38

Well if men and women were truly equal, would gender or sex even need to be a thing? Would it matter? If society was open and non sexist, would transgender be an issue?
like there’s evidence everyone is a little bisexual (not going to evidence this, but Kinsey is a good example).
if this was the norm, would homophobia and sexism still be issues?
I like questioning: like you said just because it’s the way it is doesn’t mean it’s right

They put signs up in female toilets to say if a male cleaner is in there. So that if you dont want to use it at that time, you can wait.

Why do they do that?

They could put rainbow flags on toilets to say trans friendly and if you don’t want to use you don’t have to.

butterfly231 · 31/03/2026 08:38

Shedmistress · 31/03/2026 08:36

Yes it probably is sexist to feel that we need such strict gender roles that people find experiences as living as the other so distressing they need to change it

You can’t though. Not really. Even in prisons some staff will have to be male. Cleaners in toilets might be male. If men want to do this they have plenty of opportunities besides pretending to be transgender.
do you see my point?

Do you know the phrase “good men stay out so bad men stand out”?

That’s how safeguarding works. We see that on average, all men are a potential threat to women, whether they wear dresses for pure or impure reasons, and so we keep them all out.

To clarify, @butterfly231:

Good men stay out so bad men stand out.

By trying to use women’s toilets, pure nice gentle genuine trans-identifying men in women’s toilets make it more dangerous for women in those toilets, whether or not you think that those trans-identifying men are themselves dangerous.

They make it dangerous because they make it so that the actually dangerous men who are wearing women’s clothing for nefarious reasons no longer stand out and furthermore no one is allowed to challenge their presence, in case they might be one of the genuine ones.

Do you see the problem yet?

Shedmistress · 31/03/2026 08:36

butterfly231 · 31/03/2026 08:31

See I have no problem with this viewpoint because it’s women focused and not attacking a marginalised group. It’s not hard. Yes it probably is sexist to feel that we need such strict gender roles that people find experiences as living as the other so distressing they need to change it. This is interesting. This I like engaging with.

For a start you keep men out of female single sex spaces. They have no right to be ther

all humans are a potential threat to all humans. Statistically men are the biggest threat within this group.
can we focus on why that is rather than a minority group that are determined to distract from the main issue, vawg?

Shedmistress · 31/03/2026 08:33

butterfly231 · 31/03/2026 08:29

And that’s the conversation about safeguarding. That’s the real issue. Because it’s the same for any human being on the planet: anyone can potentially hurt you, and how do you protect people and keep them safe without infringing on others rights?

And trying to manipulate women to be kind to those who subscribe to a sexist belief system is ok?

No.

Transgenderism is sexism. Pure and simple. It's not ok to expect women to condone that.

There are damages to women other than rape, and "probably not a rapist" is not a good enough reason to accept womanhood being relegated to a feeling or a state of mind.

It’s normally men who have an intimate relationship with the victim. We know this. I can prove it. Why argue over this? We need to keep shouting this so people believe victims if they speak up.

Yes and men who say they are women also know women. Do you think they all jump out of alleys to rape and sexually assault people?
Often they like other predatory men will lure women in by being the nice guy before any attacks take place.

These are all well known tactics.

A very basic one for women is single sex spaces and provisions.

A more subtle one is to ensure clear language.

That’s what you’re doing with trans people! Oh good lord. Paint drying would be a more effective use of my time.

Oh, the irony!

I have taken offense and I’ve explained why. I’m not calling trans people predators becuase they’re trans. It’s hate speech.

@butterfly231:

How do women tell the difference, in a quick glance because that’s all they’ll get, between a naice trans-identifying man in women’s clothing in the women’s toilet, and Dave the perp who is wearing women’s clothing to get into the women’s toilet for nefarious purposes?

spannasaurus · 31/03/2026 08:29

Wouldn't it be great if victims of vawg could be confident that they could attend a therapy group or refuge without worrying about the presence of men.

Maybe JKR could concentrate on that.

Oh wait a minute, she did. She opened Beiras Place and was called transphobic because it's female only

Boiledbeetle · 31/03/2026 08:28

butterfly231 · 31/03/2026 08:21

I have taken offense and I’ve explained why. I’m not calling trans people predators becuase they’re trans. It’s hate speech.

It's not about trans people it's about MEN.

No one here is calling trans people predators because they are trans. People on here are pointing out that MEN who identify as women are just as likely to be dangerous as your average bloke.

As a woman I personally think that any man who goes in the women's loos for example is a wrong un. The men that claim to be women as they do it worry me more though as they've already transgressed a boundary most men won't cross and barged their way in to a space they don't belong.

Shedmistress · 31/03/2026 08:28

butterfly231 · 31/03/2026 08:23

Not focusing on Dave the perp and focusing on the victims of vawg instead would be my advice. But honestly idc if you take it or not.

Id prefer to focus on lessening the number of victims in the first place, than hand-wringing about it afterwards.

That's called 'safeguarding'or it used to be.

Why should we keep increasing the number of victims just to not be mean to men who say they are women?

butterfly231 · 31/03/2026 08:28

Shedmistress · 31/03/2026 08:26

Why do you think, when only 0.5% of rapes are even investigated, that this wouldn't be even higher amongst the general population?

Still wondering how allowing Dave to get his knob out in women's spaces is the "pragmatic" and yea "strategic" move that's totally going to secure women't spaces.

One might speculate that Dave getting his knob out is the desired end point, and everything else is just rationalisation.
