I never said she did. I said when people now think of terfs they think of their trans friends and feel uncomfortable and disengage from the debate, which is annoying because jkr has such a huge outreach but lots don’t want to get involved because of how controversial this now is.

I think you need to show us where Ms Rowling attacks or misgenders anyone like Lily. My memory is very clear that she specifically identified 10 individuals and took them to task. People who were aggresive TRAs or taking opportunities from actual women. They all deserved it. I am not aware of any other occasion where she has routinely misgendered trans people. I think you owe it to us to bring it to our attention unless you regard the 10 individuals she did deliberately misgender as undeserving (and tell us why).

This is interesting. I have thought a lot about JKR behaviour and how it has created a barrier for me, and unmasked a few peoples misogyny making the world a little bit more unsafe.

I still support her actions, and in a way they help me understand and be compassionate towards the actions of Trans people in fighting for what they view as their rights.

Where I think the issue is is the actions of the allies i.e gay men and the charities that were initially for same-sex people but have tried to apply the same tactics for transgender people in order to make money.

Yes there’s definitely some fracturing but historically there’s always been the issue that the men’s voices get heard more than the women’s in this community anyway. So it’s always been a tension.
