We live in such a topsy turvey world. The poster who is now accusing this thread of racism had their racist comment removed earlier.

Then we have another poster arguing that Caster Semenya is a woman and in an attempt to back their argument is claiming that it is common for African women to go around with bare breasts. I’m putting that one down to ignorance rather than blatant racism.

Nobody wants you to be 'ashamed', Caster. Be proud of what you are and who you are, campaign for better understanding of DSDs, represent people with DSDs and the problems you face, stand up for children with DSDs getting the medical and psychological support they need, make sure that you get all the human rights you are entitled to - no problem with that.

I'm sure you will welcome the idea of universal testing by means of a simple, one-off, non-invasive test, because it will apply equally to all women, or people who claim to be women, regardless of race. No unfair singling out of women because of ethnicity or race or where they are for - logically, you must welcome the universality and objectivity of the IOC's eligibility tests.

I have external female genitalia and gonads inside just like every other woman without a DSD.

Because the definition of gonads is a collective word for ovaries and testes.

I am often a little intimidated at the sheer depth of knowledge of some posters on here. I certainly wouldn't be telling them 'you're wrong' without being very sure of my facts.

Margaret Wambui, who stopped competing internationally in 2019 after his DSD was revealed and he was disqualified by the IAAF. He could have decided to take medication to lower his testosterone according to the rules at the time, but I guess he decided to quit while he was ahead, unlike Semenya.

I have a rare genetic condition that means I don't have a working lymph system and I only have one kidney.

This condition didn't reveal itself till I was 15, and I only found out I have one kidney three months ago.

But my existence as someone with a single kidney and a non-working lymphatic system, doesn't mean that I'm a special "inter-renal" person. It's a genetic variation. Most humans develop two working kidneys.

DSDs don't mean humans are not male or female or both male and female, they mean that for some men and women their sexual reproductive system didn't develop in the expected way.

Just as my lymph system and kidney didn't develop as expected.

It's not difficult to understand.
