If 'man' refers to people regardless of their sex, who have a particular inner identity, why is anyone even encouraged to take hormones?

Anyone doing so is demonstrating how strongly they believe that being a man is defined by having a male body and not who they are inside.

I do find it interesting what we are told as female people and what risks aren't really discussed (bone density etc... incredibly important as we age)

I actually do think AidaP thought this was a question about men taking female hormones looking at Aida's first responses, because surely nobody would start a thread about women (unless they are transwomen).

I tend to notice that the vast majority of discussion on transgender people is focussed on the male kind - you would almost think that sex matters even then
