Trailer for new Harry Potter series

Not a Harry Potter fan. I tried! But always here for any discussion involving JKR as I absolutely love her. It’s utterly pathetic that virtually every newspaper or online review of the new series, when it airs, will invariably distance itself from JKR’s so-called transphobia. Just in case anyone jumps to the wrong conclusion and thinks that a good review equals an endorsement of JKR’s support for women - um, sorry, transphobia🙄

Seaweed makes an excellent fertiliser for grass, gives a much more sustained nourishment than an initial mad flush.

Anyway, I think the trailer looks excellent and not only am I hugely looking forward to the series (as I suspect millions of people are) but I hope it brings JKR lots of lovely money to keep funding women's rights cases and buy herself new yachts for herself on which to toast the victories. The handwringing from a vocal minority convinced that they can turn it into a flop will just be another re-run of Hogwarts Legacy which was a massive hit despite the best efforts of the TRAs.

What irritates me most, actually, is watching Youtubers gush over every detail of the trailer, talk about how much they love HP, and how it made their childhoods so much better, and how they're so excited about the series...

And then apropos of nothing, declare 'fuck JK' rather like the plopper on this thread, and rant for a moment about how abhorrent she is, and how much they hate her...

If they despise her so much, then frankly I wish they wouldn't talk about it. But clearly they all love the creation of her mind too much to just not watch it, because it's so bloody good - so instead they watch it, and try to protect themselves from critique by chanting the Party mantra.

Jkr aside, I love the Harry Potter movies and think they still hold up so well! The tv series is clearly very tied into the ip of the movies (due to merchandising and the theme parks etc) so it feels largely pointless to me!

i would have much preferred a prequel focusing on the Marauders, or even a cursed child adaptation. Something in the world but new!

im very fed up of everything just being recycled now (like Disney only making sequels etc etc)

I foresee a potential dissonance of head exploding proportions, it must be boycotted because JKR ias a big old meanie, but it must be watched to support the people in it who have said she's a big old meanie.

This is pretty much the equivalent of a four year old running into a room full of adults and shouting "BUM'.

Casting looks strong. The acting of the kids in the original first film looks decidedly clunky and wooden now (hardly surprising given the open casting).

I wonder if it has dawned on any of the actors on the series who have stated they disagree with JKR’s opinions that a chunk of the money they will help her earn will go towards defending women’s rights? How transphobic of them.

Bloody JKR! We were having a discreet garden party - you know, a few friends, a couple of glasses of prosecco and some unimpressive canapes - when JKR rocked up to ruin it all. Before we knew it we were drinking Chrystal Champagne and eating Michelin (no idea how to spell it) 3* nibbles. She is so disappointing.

Cannot wait for this series! As if you couldn't tell anyway by my username 😂.

I have never read the books, but I have watched the films as they are often on over Christmas. I had a look at the new trailer, and I think I might give the new series a go.

Stay away from stuff advertised as quickly growing/greening/thickening your lawn. We got some of that and it did indeed give us a thick green lawn quickly. The problem is it doesn’t then slow down - it needs cutting a whole lot quicker than the rest of the lawn all spring/summer/autumn.

I was getting pretty frustrated with trying to get some to root recently. In the end I just raked the ground to a fine tilth and used a 60/40 mix of ryegrass and fine fescue. It came up pretty quickly and if you just keep on adding more seed to the bare patches it will thicken up nicely. A slow release fertilizer with phosphorous and potassium will also promote good growth. HTH
