The thing that jumps out from that video is just how unnecessarily aggressive men are… repeating themselves, going on away and coming back to endlessly repeat themselves. Demanding others to listen to them. Quite scary really.

This warrants restating ^ as an op that is clear, relates to what actually happened. Phrasing it thus might have generated the gentle discussion that the op wishes us ladies to cultivate under their thoughtful tutelage.

But what I’d really like to know is who is on the list of ‘the usual suspects’? And do you have to have a pitchfork to be one? More importantly, what is ‘brand waving’ and how do brands make a noise? 🤔

Apologies to everyone but I was thinking of another You Tuber called Billy Moore who served time in Thailand. Here is in Manchester chatting to Steve 'Edge of the Matrix' James.

Eresh's fabulous "Why do the visiting TRAs always sound like wannabe supervillains" comment (in as many words!) was spot-on. I don't know who uses language like this besides pre-teens, immature tweens and Marvel (oh, yeah, and parody). We're moving beyond satire. I'm starting to guiltily enjoy it - it's almost always surrounded by contrastingly careful, reasoned posts (links, measured commentary etc.), and this forces readers to sit up and think, "What the heck?! This person's claims feel a bit unhinged..." And that, in turn, prompts them to look more closely at their other claims, and then at the ideology's claims... and the house of cards comes tumbling down, at the hands of the people building it. It can be infuriating at times, but at others, it's quite satisfying. The only thing that gives me pause is the sense that somewhere behind the belligerence, there may be someone who's either very young, or very vulnerable. But sometimes the nastiness is such that it's hard not to clamour, "#Letthemspeak!!!"

I mean, talk about dehumanising rhetoric:

Unison are awful, generally. Just awful. I would never pay them money to represent me. Unfortunately they are the go to union at my work, so I have no union.

In all seriousness though, the issue is men, again, being angry and aggressive and threatening.

Nobody on this board is anti anything, just pro women and safeguarding and ensuring that men (who, as a sex class are the main perpetrators of sex crimes and violence) do not gain access to women's single sex spaces. The Green party are essentially against safe spaces for women, and do not want women to have single sex spaces (they want men, however they identify, to be able to also have access), so people were protesting this and challenging this view.

Well, it’s been brought to our attention that men working for Unison and Stand up to Racism were violent in Manchester yesterday, apparently on behalf of a Green Party MP. Hope we all had a happy International Womens’s Day, everyone!

It must be really tough being someone who can only see the world as being so polarised that any person who disagrees with the way that a political party treats its female members must 'hate' that political party.

I've checked the colour wheel. Red is opposite green. At least one of the Communist parties supports women, actual women, so that checks out.

Does anyone know if the Unison thug who assaulted at least one woman is going to face charges?

Not read the whole thread but this was being discussed on the Manchester Reddit and general concensus is the main individual and side kicks are out to cause trouble. That they don’t particularly care about whatever their current cause is. They have form for similar but on different topics. They want the aggro and attention and clicks on their social media channels. Think they are Charlie Veitch wannabes

I watched the video of billboard Chris and it seems to be that he is the victim of violence.

Actually I posted about this event on the Green party thread yesterday at 6.15. This is what I said.

Meanwhile what look to be a bunch of right wing male twats were harassing Hannah Spencer in Manchester and scuffling with police. Politics UK calls them "anti-trans protestors" so there is a chance they can be confused with women saying they exist.

Men shouldn't harass women for saying things. Muslim men, left wing men, right wing men this is their joint agenda.

Fairly balanced I think. Following the general mumsnet line which is when men get involved the possibility of violence increases based on everyday life and knowledge of male criminality and years of seeing TA men threaten and harassing women protesters.

On looking over the footage today and seeing other posts I saw as many others did that one of the key culprits was Hadi so I posted this.

It seems that one of the men with Hannah Spencer was Unison Equality Officer and Stand up to Racism activist Ameen Hadi who during the scuffle punched a woman in the face.

Male violence is the problem as usual.

Yes we are going to call out the Greens when they are wrong. With Mothin Ali condoning violence one minute and claiming to be against it the next. ZP saying we can talk to Putin, but we need to cut off any relations with Trump. Kicking people out of the party for saying biology is a thing.

ZP has said multiple times he sees Trump and Farage as a model. So we get yet another mouthy bloke who thinks he knows everything spouting nonsense and appealing to populist rhetoric.

If you look on Mumsnet there are some rightwing posters, some left wingers, some despairing both sides - but the one common thing that always comes up is we can see through the rubbish people spin and the way people won't let women say things.
