Not entirely true. No new patients receiving puberty blockers in the public system. Private system is still there as an option. Those is the public system already being prescribed puberty blockers are still on them if they want to be. The Queensland government is doing their own review to make a decision about puberty blockers.

If Crisafulli really wanted to put his money where his big mouth is then he’d get Dr Jillian Spencer reinstated to Queensland Health.

Surely this is a get out of jail free card for Starmer and Streeting. They can crack on with their favourite policy option of kicking the can down the road.

I am sure here in Canada they will bury their heads in the sand, but every new study that shows how little backing there is for all of these "therapies' is good. At some point they will be forced to look, probably because of the health disasters that start to become public, and then all of those damning reports will be there.

That's quite remarkable. Other countries waiting to see what happens with the British guinea piglets.

I think that if they carry on investigating this now, and realise it doesn't meet ethical standards, it could be a very good thing, big picture, internationally.

Obviously no 14+ year old should be experimented upon but this is a huge step in the right direction.

For me, top billing should be the impact on the developing brain. From what we already know about development milestones, and can extrapolate from that, PBs stop important adolescent brain development from ever happening. Causing infertility is bad enough, but no child should ever be left with a very high risk of permanent brain damage as a consequence of medical "treatment".

I’d put money on it being brought about following Sex Matters letter sent yesterday regarding the discord between prescribing PBs to children yet schools will have to follow the law and not allow children to use opposite sex facilities / join opposite sex teams
“here little Johnny, these drugs will mean you can carry on and pretend to be a girl, but don’t forget you’ll still have to use the boys toilets”

Somebody, at long fucking last, is reading the writing on the wall.

And shame on them for not taking an ethical stance, rather than a political one.

Apparently the ethcs committee met by Zoom for one meeting of nine participants. Members asked questions, made some recommendations and passed the matter to a sub-committee. The next meeting had five decision-makers. The final decision in November was made by a sub-committee of three.

That's how little they were concerned about the ethics of strerilising children as young as 8 . A typical NHS shambles.

Hannah Barnes has done an epic job of pulling the whole Pathways abomination to pieces. In reading about one of the questionnaires proposed, it’s clear that too many people haven’t already done a deep dive into the ethics of the project.

Yes. Children with cancer are physically unwell. The children confused about what sex they are will be physically healthy but mentally unwell.

The idea we've allowed the NHS to sterilise and physically mutilate healthy children in the name of this ideology is sickening.
