Ex Copper TRA arrested, finally.

He looks exactly how you imagine he would, very camera shy, unsurprisingly.
Some excellent strategy by Wings over Scotland, they managed to get him arrested at a court hearing of yet another malicious case brought by him.
Well played, very well played.

Thing is, they probably just gave him a lift home and didn't really arrest him. He seems to have a lot of sway and this could just have been performative from GMP to get people to shut up. OK, thats my inner cynic talking, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

GMP have no reason to favour Watson, he brought a JR against them last year because a complaint Watson had made against Wings got NFA'd. Last I heard he was frothing about an appeal but on reading the judgment I couldn't identify his grounds.

Watson was a litigant in person so the whole costly business was dragged out while the judge tried to find sufficiently small words in which to explain the law to our erstwhile copper. Wings has the whole transcript on his site, it's worth reading for the lulz. As is the judgment - Watson was drummed out of his Force & barred from all police Forces on gross misconduct grounds after harrassing Harry Miller of Fair Cop, the judgment makes extensive reference to Harry's separate, successful case against the College of Policing. That must have stung. 😈

I failed to supress a wheeze when I read this Wings comment:

"He never has trouble getting automatic supermarket doors to open"

About bloody time. I have little confidence in what happens next however.

For me it was "Very little danger of falling down any storm drains"

Is this going to go anywhere? Or are the police just going to go oops, lost him again? With police ideological capture and this guy being a former cop, I feel pessimistic. Someone please tell me I'm wrong...

If GMP are the investigating Force, rather than nicking him on behalf of Wings' local Force then cautious optimism isn't out of the question. Sacking & prosecuting bent coppers is a priority for GMP's Chief Constable so I doubt that Watson's "identity" would help him as much with that Force as it appears to have done elsewhere.

Far, far too much to type out here, google his name + "Harry Miller" then his name + "gross misconduct". HM was very far from the only person to have complained of Watson's attentions, hence this arrest.

I know what you mean, I am not overly optimistic about the police and I think he'll try and disappear again.
But he has now had his picture plastered all over the shop, nobody even knew what he looks like these days, now many, many people do. It'll be easier for journalists and photographers to keep tabs on him, and he probably hates that his picture has been widely shared and will probably keep on being shared even more.
