Guardian on Transgender participation in the Winter Olympics

Interesting hypocrisy from those trans-identifying men misgendering a fellow trans-identifying person.

Unsurprising. The athlete is female, and we all know that females do that count unless they are servicing males. Men saying the quiet part out loud again.

I understand the bitterness but I'm actually really happy to see any person with a trans identity competing in the correct category (or using the correct facilities etc).

I'm never going to believe in gender identity because it goes against values I hold dear, such as being against gender stereotyping. But hey, I don't believe in anyone's God either; or eating meat; or wearing long trousers over high heels.

I want a world where we don't all have to believe the same thing but we can all get along peacefully and this seems a step in that direction. And I bet it probably isn't easy to be that trans person, swimming against the tide of trans ideology.

Is the extract above the full extent of the Guardian article? I guess it put them in a bit of a bind because too much celebration of Elis risks upsetting the (far more important as far as they're concerned) transwomen and true believers of the ideology. I'd love to see the Guardian cope with an article about a transwoman competing in the men's category. Heck I'd even buy it for the first time in 8 years if they managed that!

So he’s a he until being a she gives him a chance to win a medal? But as a he, he stands no chance to win a medal… so returns to being a she for the olympics. And loses anyway… Really strong belief right there about the “wrong body” etc…🤦🏻‍♀️

This is exactly the same as Quinn, described as the first openly transgender footballer to play in the World Cup, when she decided to identify as "non binary".
Woman identifies as non binary, decides to carry on playing for the women's team.
Bit of a non event really, isn't it?

I think, the Guardian is out to confuse people.
What it should be saying is - Elis, having decided to identify as a man, has decided to keep on competing in the women's category, because Elis knows, that Elis would not stand a snowball in hell's chance of competing at any meaningful way in the man's category.
Of course, they can't say that, because the whole house of imaginary cards would come tumbling down.

The only reason why he's saying that is because Elis isn't playing along with his smoke and mirrors playbook.

So much for all the inaccurate twaddle about trans people being excluded from sports.
I don't mind Elis being referred to as he, I just don't believe he is a he and neither does Elis clearly.

Well, if a woman actually managed to qualify to compete against men at the top level that would be pretty revolutionary.

Really revealing in that it shows how TIM, such as Drennan, only care about TIF in as much as how they can further their own aims. Who would have thought it.
