Only last week one of my FE student's name had changed on teams and registers to what they described as a "non-binary" name. Told me she was changing her name and pronouns on teams and was waiting for her new student ID badge to be printed.
I teach an external exam class and mentioned to her that if she changes her ID badge then the invigilators can't match her up to the exam entry name and she won't be able to take the exams on the day as external invigilators must do this step too ensure security etc. (Also JCQ inspectors also do and hoc drop ins to check this type of thing). She said she still wants to do her exams as she's only 16 and won't be able to change her name legally and mum and dad don't know about her new name and being non-binary. Apparently her tutor hadn't discussed this with her and had just affirmed her choice of name change with a note on our system that from now on she was "" but to use her original name if talking to parents.
No shit this happens monthly to me.

They've just guaranteed the promotion of gender ideology into school.

They didnt have much option to keep sex=sex in schools, especially as GRA is for adults not children.

But saying that a child can 'socially transition' is telling every other child in the school that sex change is possible and normal and should be respected.

We know for girls this is a social contagion, what does this do to stop it?

Also, when a grown arsed man tell the same children he's a women, what are they going to believe?

Yes they have been policing it. Our local secondary described how they would bring pronoun ‘offenders’ in at lunchtime to help them understand their error. They stopped short of using the terms ‘re-education’ or ‘struggle sessions’

They most definitely have been policing pronouns, DS was pulled up for using the 'wrong' ones for his sister!

Meaningless about pronouns unless they are going to police other children's speech. I commented on that aspect in a previous consultation. It's immoral and unworkable. Imagine it in a school with a high % of children with speech and language difficulties or for whom English is not their first language. Nobody can "own" pronouns.

It's a weird mix of you can pretend to be a girl and everyone will play along and say you're a girl but we'll also make it clear you are not really a girl.

Unfortunately since she was born in Scotland no signature was required, although they were happy to help if she needed it. But since this is the school that were happy to have her sleep in a room full of 14 year old boys on a school trip (I made damn sure that didn't happen!) nothing they do surprises me. I'm going for a shower and a good cry.

Social transition seems to have been reduced to name and uniform change with parental involvement. And pronouns.
Personally I don't think either of these transition for children are a good idea but they don't impact other children.

Pronouns though are asking everyone else to play along and warp their language. No one should be asked to do this.

The thing that everyone appears to be missing is this consultation goes DOWN, not up. Therefore, whatever the "consultation" involves, it's never going to go back to SCOTUK with a "redo this ruling" note.
