When you're into an ideology so completely dependent on sex stereotypes, how on earth does one square claiming to be female, whilst behaving in such stereotypically male ways?

Because men ALWAYS matter more than women, even when the man is a mass murderer. So these "journalists" worry more about not upsetting the man than trying to help women and girls to be safe from them.

'Trans' is easy. Make anything you don't like all everyone else's fault. Don't do any hard work yourself. Unhappy? All due to 'transphobia'. It also encourages only seeing others as props for your identity, not humans in their own right. No consideration of how someone else might feel e.g. how difficult it might be for them to use wrong-sex pronouns suddenly and all the time. This desensitisation to others' needs is part of 'affirmation'. And perhaps lays the ground for an ability to see extreme violence without empathy.

Well I think this is possibly the biggest and worse case of that yet. Mum clearly didn't want to confront the problem and it cost her life, the lives of two of her children and the children of a bunch of other people.

Yes .... Although I think the relevance of a trans identity is simply that when a kid declares themselves "trans", adults aren't allowed to look in depth at the kid's issues. All issues are condensed to the kid experiencing "transphobia".

I've seen this happen in UK schools, imagine it's worse in Canada.

It is not that this man’s trans identity was the cause of the shootings ( though the usual on-line transactivist grooming narrative of a trans child being a misunderstood victim may well have played a part) His mentally disturbed mind must have been the primary cause.
But, because he said he was trans (from age 12), he would never have had the psychological help he needed for his disturbed mental state throughout his earlier years, other than to ‘affirm’ him as trans, and giving him hormones with unknown outcomes, on the assumption this would help him*.

Of course what you say about the evil violence he was watching on-line would have played a huge role too, no doubt. It did in Brianna Ghey’s murder too.

*In Canada anything other than ‘affirmation’ would have been deemed illegal ‘conversion therapy’ and led any psychologist who had tried to investigate and help with what was really troubling this boy to be struck off their professional body.

She should have been monitoring the sites he was visiting or paid for software to block this type of online activity being available to her vulnerable teenage son.

I was just reading this on Facebook and thought it was worth adding to this thread. It was very reminiscent of a recent case highlighted on 24 hours in Police Custody where the young man who killed his family was also ingesting violent content day and night and according to the police he had radicalised himself.

It feels like the trans identity wasn’t the key to this at all. It is unfettered access to violent content, file swapping, snuff videos etc that is tipping these young people into an interest in mass violence. How can we get these online sites taken down?

TBH, I'd be a lot more concerned by the fact he was visiting Watch People Die than by the online drug purchases - those can easily be done IRL. WPD increasingly seems to be the nursery slopes for school shooters, it's certainly desensitising its many, many users to the death of others, & it presents those deaths as a form of entertainment.

I'm a middle aged woman, of course I agree with Trump on two sexes. My world view is bigger than that. He has done so much harm to women I don't think getting one thing right on women and sex means he has done anything for women. It's really naive to think he has done that to protect women. If he cared about protecting women his entire life and career would have been different.

I have to admit I do despair at the slackness of some parents. They allow their child to slide into a dangerous online life to ‘keep the peace’ and keep their child easy and manageable in their room, then expect CAMHS (or whoever else) to pick up the slack when it all goes badly wrong and years of unmonitored internet use and disengagement from the world results in a disturbed mind.

And many parents are quite happy to leave boys alone in their room with access to the internet without monitoring what they are watching.

This guy went down a dark path on the internet and used the internet to source drugs causing police to be called to his home on at least one occasion due to his violence while high as a kite and his mother went to the trouble of getting back the rifles she had bought back after police had rightfully seized them because of the boy's dangerous behaviour two years ago...

Yes, if every disturbed teenage was rounded up, stripped of their devices, subject to heavy monitoring and mandatory assessments/section, there would be uproar about civil liberties and our treatment of the mentally ill (particularly on here). Many posters seem to have kids who refuse to engage with society, lock themselves away in their rooms, spend inordinate amounts of time online and ‘refuse’ school while making enemies of the world around them. There aren’t even the resources to do it.

I think the reasoning is Trump is Trump. He's, to coin a phrase, exactly what it says on the tin. The Demoncrats act as though they are better than him when they're just a different flavour of misogyny. No wonder so many women around the world feel politically homeless.
