Based on my life, I can say more times than not 'sex affecting how drugs work in the body' refers to the primacy of sex hormone affecting tissues in the body and their processes rather than the state at conception or birth or however people determine sex.

Medical personnel know that the younger a person begins HRT, the more likely their cells and systems will conform to normal ranges of the adopted sex. Blood tests are a simple example, body composition ratios are another.

Some trans women end up learning they have acquired new autoimmune disorders thanks to how cells and systems in their body react to being estrogen dominant. Some trans men experience a lessening of their EDS, RA or Lupus symptoms as soon as they begin testosterone.

I informed the surgeon and thusly the medical team of my birth sex when I had recent abdominal surgery. He said it wouldn't change anything as all the applicable tests performed were all in female range. I'm sure there were some practicalities of the actual surgery itself provided my organ distribution and maybe placement. But medicine and chemical reaction wise, all went as expected. So in this situation, 'sex' does not appear to be dependent upon gametes.

Also, sharing or publishing a covert recording is illegal in England, so this patient's actions would have been illegal had he tried this here.

Echoing PPs, I really don't think his bag/phone would have been taken into the operating theatre. I've had 2 ops and wasn't allowed to take any belongings in with me - they were left in the recovery ward.

General anaesthetics are done by the kg unless you're a freak like me who has a nasty habit of waking up during surgery. In cases like mine they have to give a lot more drugs and its a battle between keeping me under and overdosing me. I've never made it to recovery still unconscious and they've never allowed me to take anything into surgery including the teddy they said I could take the 1st time I had surgery. I can confirm that they remove anything and give it back as you enter recovery as I woke up when they tried to take my teddy aftee they thought i was under and I'll remember the look of shock and horror on that nurse face to the day I die as I sat up and started kicking off (i was 5 btw) until they gave my teddy back and actually knocked me out. I also remember them trying to sneak it back as they wheeled me into recovery but I was already awake again and very unhappy that they lied to me.

could the bag have been in recovery near a bay being prepped for the patient’s return? Meaning it could have been other staff including nurses etc.

They still need to know what sex the patient is and were discussing it.

There was a well reported case a few years ago of a 'man' attending at a hospital in the USA with abdominal pains. In reality the 'man' was a woman in labour. The baby was stillborn as the cord had dropped into the vagina. The records recorded her as male. There was nowhere available on the personal details to state that she was biologically female. We have got ourselves into a truly crazy situation where biology is overridden to appease feelings.

Does anyone remember years ago, early 80s? A man had a sex change, he wrote a book about it. I think his new name was Julia. The book told of his struggles etc, how he was much happier as a woman. As far as I remember, sometime after his gender reassignment op he started bleeding "down below" He was taken to hospital where the medics, not realising he wasnt a biological woman, assumed a miscarriage and attempted to carry a procedure. This caused more damage to the reassignment surgery and Im not sure they were able to correct it. A very sad story and I would think a lesson to learn that knowing someone's biological sex is kind of important!!

I watched a bit of that video yesterday. He seems to focus on the fact they commented on him having male genitalia - he has a husband so likely a gay man (would it be a stretch to suggest that keeping those bits are a choice relating to his sexuality?). Either way it seems that he can’t cope with the reality of being male.

Exactly - what sort of hospital is this? I’d be surprised if any possessions were taken into theatre. The device must have been hidden on his person - did he tape it to his body because surgical gowns dont have pockets

Indeed. He looks and sounds exactly like the man he is, I think the so-called facial feminisation surgery was a complete waste of money. IMO, he bears a resemblance to the actor Jim Parsons (who played Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory).

Now. Let's consider how many other patients have been harmed by the actions of this twat being a control freak about pronouns in a medical setting where his sex is relevant.

There's all the resources directed at resolving this. That's clinical staff away from patients. That's money spent. Even if it's the US and he's paid for the surgery he's still putting up premiums for others.

He wants to wreck careers and destroy lives.

Unless of course his reason for transition is NOT dysphoria.
