Seems to be one of those groups that go into schools and sneak gender ideology in by the backdoor.

They talk about 'gender based violence' and have she/her he/him as their opening gambit. Lots of waffly words but I'd like to see the nitty gritty of the resources they use....

Particularly not if she is a gay man, in any event.

You’ve missed out on the third option. She’s an actor. She is paid to say things she doesn’t necessarily believe. It’s literally part of the job description.

Oh, and the fourth option - which is that she’s gone for the ‘they’re all lovely lovely people who just know they’re women … and I know I’m a gay man.’ With complete sincerity. Because, after all, being able to fake complete sincerity is the mark of a very good actor.

She’s fairly wealthy right now, but whether that wealth would last the rest of her life if she got cancelled… the arts right now are very, very Stalinist and everyone knows that you can stop getting work offers in a second. And that work offers can be withdrawn if pressure is put on.

Plus she is under contract to say positive things during the release period.

I don’t know what she actually thinks. Just that the interview reads to me like a standard publicity interview where she said the positive things she was being paid to say.

Whenever I read something like this I see some awful Mary Whitehouse figure in a1950s dress tinkly laughing about how women don't need legal protections against harassment because they have never been one of those women who mistakes their role in the home...

To be fair ‘I learned a lot’ is often acting speak for ‘I learned to never work with this lot ever again.’

The rest of it sounds very much like standard ‘my contract says I have to do publicity, so I will find something positive to associate me with the queer community even if it’s a stupid joke I made to my husband ten years ago.’

The minute women like her get a sniff of wealth and fame they conveniently forget how vital women only toilets, changing rooms, Refuges, women only hospital wards, and women only support services are. They will never need any of these, money and fame will insulate them from the real world from now on. Must be nice i guess. Makes me remember how extraordinary and wonderful J K Rowling is, the wealthiest and most famous who never for a moment forgets the problems of ordinary women in this misogynistic world. 😍

all gone to the devil the minute they speak their own words - if only they stuck to their scripts. I think most slebs are confused, believing they are clever when in truth they are just good at pretending to be a whole range of things they are not. Silence definitely is golden. Acting mostly seens to be modelling with a bit more movement.

The BBC interviewed a they/them after that student was murdered recently. I saw his photo, septum piercing ✔️, interesting hair colour ✔️, they/them'd in his quotes ✔️ . I'm not certain how good a witness he would be if he's incapable of observing his own sex!

Exactly it's the same as the clearly male 'they/them' at the cinema near me too; black nail varnish, some kind of nose and ear jewellery, metal chains.

Tbh just dressed like all the male Goths I knew back in the 90s. Who we all knew were men, including them.

Black nailpolish and a they/them badge seemed so unique, though! 😂

No, B&Q. Although there may well be one in the local Oxfam too. Young men with nail varnish, eyeliner and silver jewellery are pretty common and until very recently, nobody ever thought it meant they weren't men.

No one seems to think she has any reasonable points

I feel like she just invalidated quite a lot of hard-line TRA transwomen with her line "I believe everyone has all of it in them. I’ve always felt like that".

I'm just grateful teenage me had 90s club and drug culture to make me believe we were all part of one huge, loving collective whole, rather than this individualistic shite.

Reading the response Times article took me right back to being an awkward 80s teenager, feeling too tall and too fat to ever be ‘feminine’ like the cool girls, not having a clue about make up and fashion, choosing to wear men’s jeans because I couldn’t accept I had female hips and baggy tops to hide my breasts.
I shudder to think that if that had been today I would have completely embraced the GI movement. Luckily the only option then was to be a goth, and the only permanent physical reminder I have is three piercing holes in one ear.
