Lots of threads come up in active.

There is one on how a school is failing to safeguard a girl and the adults in chatge admit in writing that they cant put lawful safebuarding in place.

So the police doing a safeguarding appeal while choosing to not clearly identify the sex of the child is a safeguarding fail and in wider terms a PR trust issue problem.

Interesting you mention height. At 5’3 the missing child would be around 9th centile for 15yo boys.

The photo quite obviously shows a boy.
The description is for a girl. How could the public help when an incorrect description was issued when the missing teen was a boy.

I notice how the "omg you're such huge massive meanies" always find these threads and never the ones detailing women and girls appalling treatment because of this pernicious ideology

It's yet another example of how safeguarding children comes a very poor second to the demands of people wishing to impose their personal ideological views on others.
Immensely selfish with children so often being the casualties of this ideology.

Why? The clothes were the same. Or should I have been looking for someone pretty or feminine. Because all 15 year old girls are so pretty and anyone not pretty can't possibly be a girl.

Given that the description was factually incorrect, you wouldn't have spotted him, so that was a waste of time then.

They need to state a missing person is trans if they actually care about them being found. To prioritise their gender beliefs over their actual life is ridiculous.

Considering the average height of a 15 yr old girl is 5'4" , I'd make a fairly educated guess that a 6'2" individual is male. Teenage boys have always worn pink, both of mine did/do. It's a colour, not a sex indication.

My 15m has several friends that dress where you can't really tell if they are male or female. Including my son, his favourite oodie is a pink one that reaches past his knees. He's 6'2" so quite a sight to see walking down the street.

The point is that it’s already in the public domain, nobody trawled through someone else’s private photo album to access it.

The photo wasn't posted on SM so people could debate who looks like a girl or boy though.

Really, save your ire for where it’s warranted, this isn’t it.

Wind your neck in, his picture is all over the place because he'd gone missing.

This stupidity has got to stop.

It was a waste of time putting out an alert for him because the description calling him a girl was misinformation. It's good that he returned home on his own because it's unlikely anyone who had read the alert would have know he was the missing child if they had encountered him.

There such a thing as crying wolf, if there are many more of these alerts that contain false information, then people will switch off to them and they will be rendered useless and that could end up being the difference between life or death for a missing child.

He is not a girl he is a boy, and those of you that can't deal with that need to get some fucking help.

Also, what if the child didn't want to be found? Nothing easier for a transgirl than to 'disguise' themselves as boy. So I'd also say that if the police really wanted this child found, then they should have said transgirl not girl.

Why the hell are you posting pictures of a child to prove a point.
