However, when pollsters added Do you know 'a colleague/other' who is trans (in addition to 'family member or friend') that support starts to go down. People seem to generally support their trans-identifying family member or friend, but then remove some of that support for their trans-identifying acquaintances. We generally trust our family members and friends, less so acquaintances or strangers. Trans-identifying people are only friends or family to a handful of people, they are acquaintances or strangers to everyone else they meet.

Colleague/other are not family and friends. I originally specified family or friend.

If someone knows a trans person well enough to consider them a friend, or a family member. There is vastly more support for trans people. Gays and lesbians also saw this affect on support in the 80s and 90s.

Sex is more than just gametes and bodies formed around their use despite what anyone believes.

Reader’s note:

When discussing the sex class of human people, this is only decided by a person having a body formed around the production of one gamete or the other, regardless of the production status of those gametes.

It is this basis, as per the Supreme Court clarification of the EA2010, that allows legitimate discrimination for the provision of single sex services and facilities.

This is not a ‘belief’ this is an established scientific fact that serves as the foundation of many aspects of life. Including the law.

MagpiePi · 06/02/2026 09:37

I am unable to answer this in a form that aligns with gender critical belief reality.

And gender critical people seem to believe their understanding is acceptable to the majority of people who are not 'peaked'? is that the word?

‘Gender critical’…? do you mean people that know for a fact that biology is fixed. No human can change their biological sex. Never have nor never will.

You, by your own admission, claim to have ‘lived’ as a woman for over 40 years but you’ll never be one and because of that fact, you and ‘trans lobbyists’ want society to abandon all safeguards for our children so that they grow up believing the impossible is possible!
GET AWAY FROM OUR CHILDREN 😣

Yes, for some questions there is a majority against. I would answer against those same questions as stated.

But, for the vast majority of other questions those in the "Have family member or friend who is trans" column are far more supportive of trans people than those outside the column.

Why do we separate certain spaces and events by sex?

please answer this.

I think in many ways it goes back to religions, of being unclean and the red tent.

Also, many men really dislike being around women and many women really dislike being around men. For drastically different reasons.

Hueyblueyandtheshoes · 06/02/2026 09:33

onepostwonder · 06/02/2026 08:58

Men and boys are not women.

Girls are in her shower area, etc, etc. They are not given access. They access, as girls.

Edited to add: If that is indeed the policy. Gender critical beliefs could twist the intent of the policy any which way.

No human ever changed sex even if you redefine the word ‘sex’.

"bullying" 😄

You are here voluntarily.
You have been invading women's spaces for 40 years voluntarily.

Who's the bully here?

I share the belief that trans girls are girls and trans boys are boys. Unlike some gender critical people, I would not refer to trans girls as men.

I guess I cannot provide an answer that is acceptable to those with gender critical beliefs.

Yup

Always good to remember some dudes get off on being humiliated and some dudes get off on continuing without enthusiastic consent.

It might be tedious AF, but it's great to have it so vividly illustrated for posters who were unaware.

I had a look on Companies House. The GLP has very little overhead - and very high consultancy/legal fees. Presumably JM’s (and others) private billing. Not a bad little income generator?!

Nice house and car and lifestyle wont pay for itsself.

Tax avoidance is big business and is always going to be steady income but needs a win rate or at least a reduction in liability but its Regulated 🤷‍♀️

Do you accept that girls at school would not want to share a changing room, toilets, or room on a residential with a biological boy.

you haven’t once tried to understand how the girls feel. It’s odd

It's not odd at all.

Men like that view women and girls simply as props in their own fantasy. They're not concerned about how the girls feel because they view them as things, not people.

KnottyAuty · 06/02/2026 09:23

onepostwonder · 06/02/2026 08:52

I accept that some girls may grow up being taught that trans girls are predators and are men they should be afraid of and absolutely under any condition should not be acknowledged as girls. I accept other girls may grow up learning that trans girls are girls, belong and should be included as girls as they will grow up as any other girl to be women.

I accept each group of girls could be encouraged to accept their environment or fight against the status quo. I imagine that adult influence would also have a massive influence positively or negatively on how a girl would feel in such a situation.

Her feelings are very real and should be heard. Resolution, if needed would take place within the rules and culture of the school. Just as any other feelings about situations would require.

No one mentions “trans girls” because it is males who are usually the problem in relation to predatory behaviour. Sex sometimes matters. Nothing to do with trans. And it’s about privacy and dignity as much as safety.

Helleofabore · 06/02/2026 09:20

If I remember correctly, sometime on this thread it was suggested that ‘all’ children have the right to privacy in a change room.

This can be taken two ways. First, of course, if a child wishes to use a cubicle, they should if one is available.

However, schools don’t have the space or the time to allow every student to change in an individual cubicle. My child’s recent build primary school had their senior class changing in make shift rooms, not even purpose built change rooms.

There are also no rights governing policy for organisations in general to provide privacy from the same sex category of people in that way. Hence there are still communal changing rooms for each sex.

It is an unreasonable expectation that policy is changed purely to suit male people who have identities that have then rejecting male single sex provisions. As they are not female people, they should not and should never have been accessing female single sex provisions.

In school, it is unreasonable to say that the solution is to have individual cubicles because all children have a right to privacy, when that ‘right to privacy’ is being misrepresented.

I've been following this saga from the get-go and I also agree that the Good Laugh Project "getting involved" (in the loosest sense possible) is going to be worse than a man short for the respondents.

I'm all for people giving JM money - I think it's brilliant how he turns all that spare TRA cash into losing court cases. Some kind of retired tax-lawyer legal alchemy!

I'd love to see the books where he turns those donations into his own billable hours and GLP overheads. I wonder how much goes anywhere else but...

You are upselling your strong and firmly held belief that
• if you can just change the meaning of girl and of woman that
• your advocy of allowing men and boys have access to the body of the OPs teen girl
● is not you advocating to allow any man or boy gain access to the body of the OPs girl.

Many people share my strong and firmly held belief.

The rest of your post is a bad faith straw man.

Re Your edit

You plonk yourself on a thread to advocate for yourself.

Your choice of thread to plonk on is about a teen girl being forced to allow a male (such as you claim to be) have access to her body in what should lawfully be her female only single sex space.

You are clearly enjoying your activity.
