There may not always be the risk of pregnancy but there is the risk of STDs with rape unless a condom is used.
I know that the MRA line is women rape too and that womens crimes are as bad as mens but its not true and really unhelpful/problematic when people repeat the lie that women rape too as an excuse for males raping women

Why on earth is it an excuse for males raping women? I didn't even remotely suggest that. That is some seriously twisted thinking on your part.

FFS not this whataboutery again 🤦‍♀️

Yes, women can be aggressors/abusers/attackers/paedophiles. We know this. But the number of them is vanishingly low compared to men. The degree of male violence, including sexual, against women (and other men) is off the scale compared to female violence.

This article really highlights the absolute necessity to protect women’s spaces from men. End of.

(Off thread in a way that feels disrespectful, but the podcast Banged Up was a good insight into the UK prison experience. I only remember one episode about women’s prison though).

I don't think anyone really knows about the true atrocities that actually go on in prison, unless you've been or have 24hr surveillance.

There is no chance of pregnancy in male on male rape either, or when a man rapes an 82 year old woman, or someone who is infertile, so I'm not sure why that is relevant in determining the definition of rape.

US class it as rape and I'm inclined to agree. I wonder how other countries define the term.

A previous poster said that women rape using objects and fists. I believe them.

Thats not rape its serious sexual assault.
Rape requires an actual penis and unlike serious sexual assaults rape comes with the added risks of stds and pregnancy which is why rape is a separate crime.
So no women dont rape and the sorts of crimes that that poster described are not female pattern crime and are really really rare to the point that there's never been a gang serious sexual assault on a woman in a Scottish prison carried out by women (the biological kind). Yes there has been a small number of sexual assaults that's have been committed by individual women, however most SSAs and all rapes in women's prisons in Scotland are committed by male guards and/or the men with special identities allowed into those prisons.

Its not rape, its a serious sexual assault and there's no chance of pregnancy even from such horrific acts, also thats not the sort of thing women even in jail tend to do to each other, despite the claims of some MRA

Just because a person is sectioned under the Mental Health Act, does not* *automatically mean a person does not have capacity.

Only a person that has had a specific assessment under the Mental Capacity Act and does not meet the criteria to have mental capacity, can be deemed as lacking capacity.

These men can absolutely be held responsible for this crime. Even if they don’t have mental capacity, they can still be found guilty and convicted. I have known many patient detained in hospitals to be charged for crimes, as this is my line of work. Sorry not having a go at you, just explaining.

And I very much agree that the NHS as a whole is so beholden to trans ideology, it’s absolute madness.

That is very good to know that legally they can be held accountable. Thank you @xSnowFairyx

Once again it’s women bearing the consequences. So fucking sick of it. Shame on the medical staff who placed that female in the male ward with such depraved individuals.

This.

But as the post you are replying to states: in the UK it's only rape if a penis is involved. Penetration with objects/fists is sexual assault.

RareGoalsVerge · 14/01/2026 05:06

IrnBruAndDietCoke · 13/01/2026 23:31

No, women don’t rape women in the UK. The literal definition of it in UK law is penetration with a penis. It is not possible for a real woman to be a rapist in the UK.

Edited

A woman can still be convicted of rape if she actually participates in enabling it eg holding a victim down while a man does the actual penetrating.

Prison rape is a huge systemic long standing problem in men’s prisons.
They rape each other all the time. During the AIDS epidemic, if you as a man got sent to a US prison, you had a 1 in 4 chance of catching HIV from being raped there.

Prison rape happens in women’s prisons too, although it is usually done with objects or fists.

The government does not care. They think criminals deserve it.

The US prison experience is pretty different to that in the UK, thankfully.

No one deserves to be raped.

But if they were all detained on a psych hold, surely they don't have capacity to be held responsible for the rape as they were not of sound mind and she can't consent as not of sound mind.
The staff are pathetic and so beholden to trans ideology that they have put this woman in danger. An entirely predictable outcome:
men rape.
And whilst many women would like to identify out of the misogyny and the objectifying of men, seems they can't and actually are identified as a woman quite quickly and treated by men as men collectively treat women, identity or not.

I can't speak for England, but in Scotland you can be held responsible for rape even if you lack the capacity to understand or care about the impact of your actions on others. That's what happened to Richard Snaddon from Fife.

[ETA He had the capacity to understand that he should not have done it.]

I believe that he's in an institution for the criminally insane sine die. The first article refers to the original verdict for his second crime. I remember the case because it happened in my area.

For some reason, the articles that were available online have largely disappeared.

“The alleged victim claims they told Thomas they did not want sex, and staff did not help them after the attacks.”

THE STAFF DID NOT HELP THEM AFTER THE ATTACKS

Safeguarding training is mandatory in the NHS, though in my hospital it’s pretty useless e-learning, I don’t know about others obviously. But it’s clear these staff didn’t have a clue. That poor woman.

xSnowFairyx · 14/01/2026 02:28

This is one of the most harrowing articles I’ve read in a while. And so upsetting.

I work on NHS secure units and this crime should have been totally preventable. “Short staffed” is NOT an excuse. I agree this patient should have been admitted to a female only ward for their safety.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/01/2026 02:26

ErrolTheDragon · 14/01/2026 00:05

Christ on a bike there’s some horribly weird posts on this thread.
The situation leading to this alleged crime should never have been allowed to happen. The trial is of the two men, but there seems to be gross negligence by the system - a five foot female was not likely to be safe regardless of ‘identity’.

This, exactly.

2021x · 14/01/2026 01:59

The violence that females experience is overwhelmingly a) from men and b) is sexual c) happens in private spaces. This profile is different from the type of violence that males experience which is a) from men (i.e the same sex) b) physical (non-sexual) and c) in public.

The important difference between this is that females are the equivalent strength of a 12 year old boy. This does not change when they transitition. Therefore if they are attacked THEY DO NOT HAVE THE STRENGTH OR SPEED TO DEFEND THEMSELVES OR ESCAPE

Putting a female on a ward with violent and behaviorly inhibited males does not pass any type of risk assessment based in reality.

The victim bears no responsibility for her attack. The responsibility is the fault of the rapists AND the risk assessors.

ProfessorBinturong · 14/01/2026 01:46

Maybe, but not necessarily. It is possible to be a sufficient danger to yourself or others to merit detention, without necessarily lacking control of or insight into your actions. Without knowing their specific diagnosis and a capacity assessment we can't know whether they could be legally responsible for their actions.
