Swinney and Starmer really hate the fact that 3 middle-aged women are in effect contradicting them and in a position to tell them what to do on a public stage.

That's basically the reason that the Scotish and UK Govts are refusing to implement the FWS judgement. These men are sexist and ego driven, every time you see them talking to women about this issue you can see how it irritates them to be corrected or held to account.

Misogynists, both of them, plain and simple.

The SNP hanging around like a drunk at the bar is more understandable, Scots still think the nationalists have their best interests at heart,

One answer may be that they are powered by exactly the same logic that has people supporting other batshit parties on the basis they allegedly know what a woman is. Which is that their single issue trumps all other considerations.

My DM used to have a saying about immovable objects and irresistible forces Being brutally honest, I am mildly surprised it doesn't feature more these days. More lost wisdom I guess.

Plus, its virtually impossible to get rid of them. See Chapman voting herself 'innocent', and the intricacies of the 'list vote' that means people can get in based on an absurdly small number of votes.

This.

I'll hold up my hands here - before i realised how batshit they were, I used to put the Greens down as my second choice.

Sorry. Haven't done that for some time. There's an election coming up for my Fife council ward this month, and I have no idea who's going to get my vote.

I believe that the Family Party is standing, but I seem to recall that they might have some weird and wonderful ideas though they're certainly GC. The LibDems in Scotland are captured.

If I vote Tory, you'll see cloud of dust swirling above Kirkcaldy Crem and a rumbling in Kirk o' Beath Cemetery as my ancestors turn in their last resting place.

When the Scottish Greens first came into being, many folk - such as my lovely, sedate aunty - voted for them because they saw them as a good, safe alternative to the main parties.

Somehow, they've been taken over by a bunch of raving lunatics but many people still don't realise that the Scottish Greens are different from those down south.

It's a line of thinking based on the idea that only men with trans identities have human rights.

And as PP have said that women DO NOT or SHOULD NOT have human rights.

Anyone who thinks male prisoners with trans ID should be housed with female prisoners doesn't think women deserve human rights, so they have a mindset very like the Taliban when it comes to women. This needs to be highlighted widely and frequently to the women of Scotland. You'd be mad to vote for any of them as a woman.

Brefugee · 08/01/2026 13:16

Everyone who challenges the ruling, or wants women to allow men in to their spaces needs to be outed. Roundly and soundly: the SNP want women to allow men in their spaces.

And then women need to strike, as they did in Iceland that time. But harder and for longer.

"doubling down" as a phrase doesn't quite do this batshittery sufficient justice.

It doesn't touch the sides as a phrase!

I see Ross Greer has today refused to call rapist Adam Graham a man, and has instead been idiotic enough to repeat that the SNP believes in self-ID even for rapists.

That the Isla Bryson debacle didn't flush the Scottish Greens into the North Sea is one of the great mysteries of the 21st century. The SNP hanging around like a drunk at the bar is more understandable, Scots still think the nationalists have their best interests at heart, Salmond and Sturgeon really put them on the map.
But the Scottish Greens? A more unappealing set of miscreants you couldn't hope to meet, with no political history or standout personalities.
How do they even stay relevant let alone significant after all that's gone down?

This is the only question I’ll be asking politicians about on the doorstep.

Because if they can get cock into womens prisons, they can get cock into ALL womens spaces.

TRA's set out to get cock into womens prisons very early on in this shit show because they identified this as once of the quickest & most effective ways to "prove" & enforce TWAW.

Why the actual fuck is the SNP so desperately invested in getting cock into women’s safe spaces? 🤔

Looks like the SNP's latest attempt to treat women badly has forced the Scottish Greens to up their attempts to endanger women.

Listen to Greer's attempt to cover up for criminal men in dresses who rape and getting serious push back on BBC radio today! All on the ever expanding Scottish Greens being awful thread.

Sorry, those are my boldings. Parliament is the only way to challenge a SC judgment, as far as I'm aware?

Which is what my little brain thought.

So anyone who is drumming up "support" for "challenging the Supreme Court" is just (yet) another grifter. No question mark as I am presenting that as a statement of fact.

BrokenSunflowers · 08/01/2026 10:36

This all links to the TRA propaganda point that the SC did not consider human rights implications of its judgement - which it did. It also ignores the fact that women also have human rights and rights under international treaties not to be imprisoned with men. Sadly though, given the Labour governments response to the EHRC guidelines, I suspect they would love for there to be a ruling that it would breach certain male prisoners human rights not to be locked up with women.

Just out of interest - although facts are probably redundant here - how does anyone challenge a Supreme Court ruling ? It sounds like the premise for a scam to me.

https://www.parliament.uk/about/how/role/sovereignty/

'Parliamentary sovereignty is a principle of the UK constitution. It makes Parliament the supreme legal authority in the UK, which can create or end any law. Generally, the courts cannot overrule its legislation and no Parliament can pass laws that future Parliaments cannot change. Parliamentary sovereignty is the most important part of the UK constitution.'
...
'Over the years, Parliament has passed laws that limit the application of parliamentary sovereignty. These laws reflect political developments both within and outside the UK.
They include:

  • The devolution of power to bodies like the Scottish Parliament and Senedd Cymru.
  • The Human Rights Act 1998.
  • The UK's entry to the European Union in 1973 - and subsequent exit in 2020.
  • The decision to establish a UK Supreme Court in 2009, which ends the House of Lords function as the UK's final court of appeal.
These developments do not fundamentally undermine the principle of parliamentary sovereignty, since, in theory at least, Parliament could repeal any of the laws implementing these changes..'
ArabellaSaurus · 08/01/2026 09:51

The point is that there is already a wing - according to the Prison Inspector report, the best wing, in fact, newest and best equipped - available for transwomen.

The SNP has no need whatsoever to try to move heaven and earth to rehouse male criminals who say they are women. They are already housed.

ArabellaSaurus · 08/01/2026 09:49

Well, it is a wing in a male prison. But it was built to house women from the East Coast, initially.

There is already a wing in Edinburgh that is used for 'transwomen' prisoners.

It was the female wing, but they needed somewhere for sex offenders. Women prisoners got dispersed across the country.

The obvious solution to vulnerable male prisoners is a special wing in a male prison.

ArabellaSaurus · 08/01/2026 09:40

ItsCoolForCats · 08/01/2026 09:23

Exactly. Why can't they concentrate their resources in providing adequate, separate provision in male prisons for any prisoners that they consider to be too vulnerable to be in the main estate?

I suspect it comes down to their firmly held belief that TWAW, therefore they are going to fight tooth and nail to keep them in women's prisons, regardless of the impact on female prisoners.

Women's wing in Scots jail to now house country's most dangerous sex offenders

HMP Edinburgh's Ratho House wing previously was used an all-female wing for prisoners from the east of Scotland.

The TRAs accuse us of obsessing about genitals and chromosomes -which we don't - but this is exactly why facts matter.
Legislation can't be based on "self declaration" otherwise we'd have chaos.

Some people are pushing for that sort of chaos, though, and see it as progressive and/or uber liberal. Anything so long as the established order is over-turned.
