I'd assumed that it was too early for candidate lists for the upcoming election, but this thread prompted me to google and I have found that there are currently 18 candidates for my local seat, across 2 independents and 2 parties, so they are obviously not all there yet. I do have a preferred candidate anyway.

I'm really going to have to check how tactical voting works as I seem to remember that, counterintuitively, if you really don't want a candidate/party it's better to number them last rather than not at all.

In the Green party list there are Mridul Wadhwa, Lorna Slater and the delightful "let's defund women's groups who won't let trans women in" Alex Staniforth. Great. What a horrendous shower of misogynists.

Yep haven't seen anyone campaigning so have had to do emails my labour, lib dem, green and snp candidates are all gender woo. The local 1st past the post tory has come out as gc but im waiting to decide until I've heard back from all tge independents

Just as English voters will tactically vote to keep Reform out, I'd do the same to keep SNP/Scottish Greens out.
I've never seen politicians rewarded more for abject ongoing failure than this shower.
If Farage was PM at the time of the Brexit vote, and he helped lose it to Remain, him and his party would have been turfed ignominiously from office.

Isn't there something about dirty water in a Glasgow hospital that's killed two children? An issue that was known about possibly when Sturgeon was in charge of health, certainly when she was First Minister.

I really wish that all the MSP's across party lines who have proven themselves principled, willing to reach out and support others in different parties and willing to challenge things would create a sort of amalgamated party with the best of all their policies.

It'll never happen but it would be glorious (and would mean I wasn't politically homeless)
