You are facing an existential threat if your identity rests entirely on other people accepting and validating it.

it implies being a trans person is like being a fairy or santa and you only exist if people believe in you. Women never say we are facing an existential threat no matter how many of our single sex spaces they tried to destroy. We will still be here because we are a real thing not an ideology
