There's a woman I occasionally see around who is way taller than that. Probably 6ft 10 or 11. Her bf is a bit shorter maybe 6ft 7 , about the same height as a friend of mine which is his I'm gauging this.
You'd never mistake her for a man but equally who is going to challenge her in the Ladies. Or even the Gents. This all sounds a bit sketchy.

Actually, it's misogyny. Women who don't meet pre-determined, socially imposed ideas of femininity being accused of being male, masculine or manly is misogyny. You don't get to unilaterally rebrand it.

And in this kind of case it derives from having boundaries around the presence of male people breached to such an extent that women are hyper-vigilant in their own space.

That's what I genuinely believe too. There was one challenged in toilets in America not long back. WRONG! Not that I buy this story - she would have been 6 foot 5 for years and would have been challenged a few years ago, so it's strange it's coming out now - I smell a rat. But if this did happen, it's the fault of those who caused women to be on high alert in the first place, by allowing men to enter in the first place! Calling women on HIGH ALERT, 'vigilantes' for their understandable trauma response and high alertness is not just victim-blaming but a form of abuse. It is gaslighting and DARVO.

As an extremely tall woman, likelihood is that yes, people might think she's a man at first glance, because it's so unusual for women to be 6'5.

But even if this actually happened this is nothing more than an unfortunate side effect of being very, very tall.

This is not an example of how awful GC people are, nor valid reason for men to be allowed in women's spaces.

So its all a bit pointless really... unless you're on a publicity hunt.

The whole idea that groups of women are patrolling toilets and ejecting anyone whose face doesn’t fit is utterly ludicrous.

I am a fully committed sex realist and I don’t believe men have any place in women’s facilities but challenging a person I believe to be male would be a huge ordeal - for precisely the same reason I don’t think he should be there in the first place. I am a 5ft2 weakling in my late 40s, easily overpowered and the men who flout women’s boundaries are people I fear, for good reason. I like to think I would make a challenge and I definitely would if there were anyone vulnerable around, eg a child. But it would be terrifying. As TRAs well know. It is (yet again) one of those things that shouldn’t need pointing out… and yet somehow does.

Yup, TIMs having to use the men's room are just as persecuted as immigrants being captured, held for months, and deported without due process. They have it worse than enslaved people ever did too.

I am sure that there are situations where a woman that tall will occasionally be taken for a man at first glance. She's an extreme outlier height wise and from the back, or not moving, it's totally plausible that someone might think that.

And these days, with many actual men dressing up in what would normally be clothes and make up work by women, I can see how someone might second guess themselves even at second glance.

But I don't think the error is likely to last long after hearing her speak - that almost always reveals the truth.

But beyond that - it's really not "horrible" for someone to make a mistake like that. about you In a way especially being so tall, because you know 100% that is what is throwing people off. It's not looking like a man in a way that might feel unflattering or weird. I could see a teen being a little perturbed by a mistake like that, but an adult?

Why bother when this way is going to get you publicity, attention and head pats?
