I am honestly sick to death of women and girls having to speak about their trauma in order to "justify" wanting access to the single-sex spaces that were set up for them.

So we can say it as it is, it’s anti LGBTQIA+ and there is no 2 ways about it. How long before people say no lesbians as they might attack someone or look at another girl in a single sex space

I agree. It’s a mockery of female foeticide as worst and totally bizarre when you consider that in some countries like the US the sex of the embryo can be chosen during IVF.

so yes I suppose it is assigned and it is sometimes a coin flip. Could anyone expand on where these children fit in, even if a small minority they deserve to be safe guarded and have a safe place for them to socialise and not be stigmatised

Yes, but that wasn't the question the poster asked. She asked if her other daughter - who she called her trans son - could join. It was an attempt at a gotcha because of course this other daughter can join.

My additional point was that if she has been denied access to-date, or made to feel she could not join, then she was the victim of discrimination. Girls identifying as NB or Trans male deserve protection and have rights too, whether we believe they are trans or not, because they are biological girls. GGUK has let these girls down in preference for little boys in an organisation set up for girls.

Any female child if the appropriate age you have should be welcome. Clothes and haircuts don’t change material reality.

There isn't an adequate explanation it is just TRA/GI nonsense talk, as if there is some kind of lottery going on in the delivery room. People who use this phrase make themselves look as ridiculous as they are.

Imagine if assigning a sex at birth did happen, all those girl babies murdered and dumped in China could just have been assigned male instead and still be alive, imagine how much better life could be for girls in Afghanistan if only they had been assigned male at birth instead.

People who spout this phrase have zero credibility in my opinion and I have zero respect for them.

Scouts is unisex isn’t it? Why can’t ’gender Confused’ kids join them ? Why do the need to join the spaces of the opposite sex - it’s like it’s a focus on their whole personality?

I was thinking more, for example, one of the big camps where there do water sports. All the children on those camps, if considered girls, would use the same facilities for changing at the water sports lake. Or the same showers, regardless of age.

Sad that your daughter feels this way, but yes your trans son may now join (and in deed was permitted to all along - so it is terribly sad that they were discriminated against by GGUK in this way until now). All female sexed individuals may join, including those that identify as male or non binary. The right for them to do so is protected in law.

Please rest assured that no one in Guiding would ever hurt your child.
I believe Guides should be single sex for girls. I do not dislike or hate any trans identified person and I wish them well in their lives.

Of course. Trans boys and girls who identify as non binary have always been able to join due to our single sex exemption. We have had girls transition before and remain in Guides.

Thanks, I know it’s an unpopular opinion and probably a protest by my son. As he’s likely not that interested but I thought I’d find out whether he’d even be accepted before someone hate crimes him or some crazy adult physically hurts him.
