I think the chances of 20K coming out of SH's bank account are slim to middling either way.

It’s an interim payment of £20k to be paid in 28 days. Total costs are nearer £50k but it seems the Judge hasn’t decided on the rest.

It's an absolute joke really. He's clearly a vexatious litigant who doesn't pay up, yet he keeps bringing these cases!

Yes. As he has repeatedly not paid the costs he's been ordered to, he should not be allowed to bring any other cases until they are paid in full

Yes, I view this as being more of a tactical measure that in a future case a defendant will be able to make an application for a security for costs order to be applied against Hayden that might stop the case in its tracks.

He won’t pay up. And he should be denied access to bring any other civil cases unless he can prove he can cover the potential costs of current cases as well as the costs he is already ordered to pay for previous cases.

All the people who have been put through the wringer and are out of pocket due to his shenanigans - that's what he does it for, not the pitiful sums he sometimes wins. The sooner he is branded a Vexatious Litigant the better. It is a scandal he has been allowed to get away with this for so long.

He owes Adrian circa. £3500, I think. £35,000 to the Daily Mail (interest is several thousand now), £15,000-ish to an ex-landlord, £15,000 to the Family Education Trust and this is just what's on record (several victims have contacted me over the years but don't want to deal with court). Meanwhile, he thinks minor procedural wins of a few hundred pounds are something to boast about.

His entire existence is one gigantic embarrassment and a joke.

ISTR Adrian Yelland recovered at least some costs from the enthusiastic litigant but that was a few years ago. Caroline Farrow probably has the accurate deets.

The High Court proceedings against me have been discontinued in full for both claims (defamation and an injunction) effective immediately. I am therefore entitled to my costs amounting to a substantial sum.

Whether he will actually manage to collect is another matter.

Also note these are the civil proceedings that have been discontinued. He still faces prosecution for alleged stalking.

For those wondering how the hearing in Hayden v Heath went this morning, whilst there needs to be some amendments to correct technical deficiencies with the pleadings, the claim survives in full. Treat any reports to the contrary with caution

We know that Watson is in that circle in someway yes. Glinner and a number of others already believe that Watson has taken part in various forms of harassment and intimidation.

Cutting off the court route for Hayden/Watson would mean that Watson will look to other methods so is liable to escalate in what he's already involved in elsewhere - purely because he has more time and this is his entire world. He has an obsession he's not just going to give up on.

Honestly, I don't see how it ends in any way other than he ended up imprisoned for something at this point because he's so invested in it and made it his entire being. He's an extremist who simply isn't going to stop. It's the what he gets imprisoned for bit that open to change.

I'm not sure it's Watson's style though, to come out of the legal shadows. Imo he'll just keep spaffing Judicial Reviews around, hoping one will stick. He's always looking for new people to focus on, saying he will "end" their behaviour. James Esses seems to be the latest one.

I'd say that actual protesting is more Fred Wallace's style.
