Anyone wanting to support greens but really stuck on their trans beliefs and policies?

The question still is not what will the law change to, but who will change the law - to deliberately erase sex and replace with gender?

How are they "shite at all things environmental" (I mean this as a genuine question)? No other party (in England, at least) seems to even think about the environment, or they pay lip service and send out some flyers with the colour green on xD

Ah, the Greens might not get a majority Government but take as a unedifying example what we saw here in Scotland where the Scottish Greens propped up a minority SNP Government through the Bute agreement. The Scottish Greens gained positions of power though only getting a tiny share of the vote and were able to rabidly push anti women policies to the point that they eventually withdrew from the agreement because the SNP refused to embarrass themselves further by challenging the enacting of Section 35. which was raised as a result of the passing of the GRR bill.

I just watched a short interview with Hypnoboobs where he was challenged on women's rights. I'm not quoting verbatim here and can't find it now, but Hypno went on for a bit about JKR being a billionaire (interviewer said, "You hate rich people don't you?" - obviously he does, as it her financial status was completely irrelevant to the question), then waffled about the poor trans people. He doesn't give a flying fuck about women.

This. Exactly this. This is a great example of a dismissive, rude, childish response to a perfectly normal question asking for clarification of a vaguely made claim. This is how the Greens act and why grown-ups think it's not good enough.

Have some standards ffs.

I recently re-joined the Green Party after leaving and years later joining Labour, then leaving Labour because I didn't like Keir Starmer (my formerly Labour MP has since quit the party)... A member of my family has a Green councillor and says that they seem to do a good job, and isn't aware of any gender-related Green Party campaigns or policies in their council area.
I suspect that any elected Greens would have a tough time enacting any gender inclusive policies because I think they're very, very unlikely to have a majority government. Their aim seems to be too have a Green candidate stand in every constituency (but not really to win every seat). I'm sad because they're the only party that really seems to care about the planet.

Well you have that wrong. The law will change. You lot behave as though nothing has, and often the posts on that board are personal and nasty.

I, again, am.thankful that my husband, when I started mentioning these issues and he started to read up about it, said 'but that's completely unfair to women!' and has been unwavering in his support for women in this fight since then.

Now that the law has changed

It hasn't changed. Groups lobbying for the erosion of women's legal right to single sex services as detailed in the EQA2010 can no longer claim that males should be able to access such spaces and services because of legal fictions or because they really, really want to.

And institutionally captured organisations are still refusing to follow the law, meaning that women are having to yet again bring legal challenges.

And so men are still being placed in the women's prison estate in Scotland, males are still cheating by competing in female sporting categories and rape crisis services are still refusing to provide single sex rape crisis services.

But this, somehow, all handwaved away with claims that opposition to these harms to women is 'hysterical' and 'right wing'.

how does he plan to ensure statistical data on eg the number of mammograms a health system might need to commission per year is accurate if men are included in the category women?

He says it's people who want to make a fuss, because HE DOESN'T THINK ITS IMPORTANT and he wants you to shut up. If you don't, and say it's important to you, he might have to notice and he doesn't want to notice.

He says this because it's not his priority. It's all about him. It's not because he thinks other people are making a fuss.

I have come across males wanting access to women on several occasions now. When it happens it's eye opening and jaw dropping. Fortunately DH is very aware of it and saw it happen - he was, once upon a time 'its made up / it's exaggerated / you are reading dodgy sources'.

Then he started to see it 'in the wild' and the unreasonable demands and he went 'hang on a second, you weren't making it up were you? You were spot on, this is really not ok'.

Bizarre that they’re trying to get everyone to believe a) in the science of climate change while also insisting that b) men can magically become women by saying so. Not only is b) complete bollocks but it undermines their core objective - to marshal support for the supposedly scientifically proven climate change. If the science of b) is called into question (which it is because it’s a lie) then it also calls into question the Greens’ belief in a). I think it’s a fatal flaw and pathetic and I can’t vote for them because of that. It’s embarrassing and shameful.

No because they oppose nuclear power, which is a deeply unserious position for a party that’s supposed to care about the impending climate doom.

DH might vote for them if it wasnt for their batshit gender ideology.

And the third thing - the Institutional enforcement of gendered stereotypes that women have fought for so long.

The issues are

1. the complete removal of the boundary.

Either a space can be mixed sex or single sex. There is no other option.

2. the loss of the language required to define and defend women’s rights.

I've never been raped...but it happens
I've never been burgled....but it happens
I've never been assaulted at work... but it happens
I've never been murdered (obviously), nor do I know anyone who has... but it happens

I could think of lots more, and I'm sure he could too!
What does he think is important, and has it actually happened to him?

I've tried having a discussion with him about this
He says it's just people who want something to complain about making a fuss and realistically how many times have I met a trans person in womens spaces .
I don't really know what to say to get through to him about this being an important issue..he has an answer for everything
