Anyone wanting to support greens but really stuck on their trans beliefs and policies?

@PeachOctopus I suspect a lot of their growing support is due to populist statements like "tax the rich", "landlords are evil". The number of poor people is higher than the number of rich people, and the number of renters is higher than the number of landlords. Also, the number of stupid people is higher than the number of intelligent people.

A few things worry me about the Greens:

Polanski has implied that he will revert the high court judgement by changing the equality act to include transgender women, the judges would then interpret the law differently.

They want to campaign for the right of self-identification for trans and non-binary people.

They are very much in favour of hate crime legislation for the categories of trans people, Islamophobia etc.

They want to ban petrol and diesel cars.

They are against small scale nuclear reactors that I think are the best way to produce non carbon energy.

They want to legalise all drugs

They want to legislate to put landlords out of business through increased regulation and taxation

They are a lot further left than Labour but copy definitely come to power in a Left wing alliance.

I will not vote for any party that does not support women's rights to single sex spaces. Which rules out the Green Party for sure.

I can’t and won’t vote for any party that seeks to dismantle protections for single sex spaces. It almost doesn’t matter what other policies they offer as the loss of women’s safety and privacy is so fundamental to the society I want to live in, that it’s my priority when I vote now.

Who is 'he'?

Only the right kind of women (ie the ones who think men can be women) are successful in the Green Party, at least at National level. Women in the Green Party who stand up for women's rights end up being suspended or expelled.

Oh you should hear his views on career women .who in his view .abandon their babies in nursery..he dislikes his sister for this reason

I don't mind people having different views on this but this goes beyond that.

When it comes to discussing anything to do with politics..he's a bully ..it's his way or no way .

His view on trans rights are in line with green and his view on boarders are they should be open to anyone who wants to live here because we are all immigrants in one way or another depending how far you go back

and the royal family should have their wealth removed and given to new arrivals .
Considering he went to private school and enjoyed a childhood of immense privilege..I find it bizarre

Completely agree with you. The Green Party used to be a cause for good, and had amazing people in it. Now the amazing people have either left or live in fear of being cancelled and so the tyranny is allowed to continue.

You are correct - I have seen it first hand, and have tried to support people I know through their secret kangaroo courts that they use to kick people out (usually women). People who have been committed to the Party for their whole lives, and given everything to the cause, have had their lives ruined just because they won’t trot out TWAW like a robot. It’s a bit like when Henry V111 chopped off peoples heads for refusing to say that he was never really married to Katherine of Aragon.

The ridiculously ill thought out heat pumps scheme, championed by Patrick Harvie (also a Junior Minister as per the Bute Agreement, despite being a List MSP) which would have increased fuel poverty while installing pumps which, according to heat pump manufacturers, 'are unsuitable for the Scottish climate' and are unsuitable for both tenement living and rural living -

The fact that actual environmentalists such as Robin Harper and Andy Wightman left the Scottish Greens because of the party's obsession about independence and the GRR bill, the crushing of any dissent on such issues and the party's seeming lack of interest in environmental issues. Leaving the party with the two mentioned above, Maggie Chapman who presided over the ERCC while it 'harmed rape survivors', and the ridiculous student politics of Ross Greer.

These are just examples off the top of my head. There are broader issues in terms of their policies detrimentally affecting those living outwith big cities with good public transport links.

The current co-leaders of the Scottish Greens have openly said that 'anyone who does not accept that trans women are women has no place in their party'. So anyone who cares about the environment and climate change but won't bleat the required mantras is not welcome.

The Scottish Greens have fucked over their chance to make a real difference for environmental issues in deference to their adulation to a woman hating ideology.

I used to be a member and significant donor to the Green Party until they started to expel people who won’t sign up to the science-denying madness. And funnily enough pretty much all those people being kicked out of the Green Party seem to be either women and/or non-white people…. I’m actually trying to get them to refund to me all the money I have given them over the years, I don’t actually expect to get any of it back though! Lol! I don’t want to be associated with an organisation that silences women. No thank you!
