German Police Officer being taken to court for "faking trans identity"

I'm in Germany too but this is the first I've heard of this! Googled and found 4 active news articles though. All of which are using female pronouns 🙄 though I guess that's to be expected unless they want to be prosecuted under our stupid laws. Most people seem to have no idea this is going on. 😡

The whole growing the babies bit while on the front lines tend to be a bit of a problem too 👀

But if Germany (like the UK) has allowed women to be appointed to frontline positions having women included in any conscription policy will be a debate which will end up taking place.

Can't they just assign monday evenings to be for men only? Then it's completely fair.

I would very much like to see someone trying to prove in court how someone could fake an identity that appears to be based on nothing other than a feeling.

Assuming the gym is obeying the law and is in the UK, it can only exclude on the basis of sex.

Obviously we have our own example of people's gender being called into question - the Man Friday swimmers.

I think they were excluded on the basis that they were obviously claiming to be trans for the purposes of protest.

That is very interesting, particularly in the context of the Neo-nazi with the beard who was sent to a women's prison (what happened to him - didn't he escape?)

Possibly not as serious but my gym has just announced that Thurs eve will be ladies only in the spa area (and I think pool). Some of the men are spitting feathers as they are paying the same but getting less access (i do see that point) and some have said they will just identify as women and who can stop them! Will be interesting

In this context, it means "on the far side of" or "beyond". The activists have made it very clear that one is either "trans" or "cis" (which means "on this side of" so we are talking geography, transalpine vs cisalpine, or trans vs cis in chemistry.

Ah, I see. If there are no differences between men and women, if women are just as strong as men, then it makes perfect logical sense that anyone can self-id as whichever one they like. The only difference really is frock, hairdo and lippy.

And it sounds as if even if when the case comes to court the mainstream German press wont take an interest. Sigh. In the long run gender ideology will probably be a gift to the extreme right wing, the longer the doubts and contradictions are suppressed the worse the backlash.

@Brefugee Ah, that explains why my German friend keeps on mentioning his arguments with his wife about men being expected to fight but women not. I've explained to him that men are stronger than women (this seemed to be news to him) and therefore in general less suited to combat on the ground, but he still thinks it's deeply unfair.

If it gets covered anywhere. The mainstream media may not mention it.

Though if the TRAs are already yelling "Queerphobia!' we might hear about it from their socials.

This kind of thing has already happened in other countries - certainly in Switzerland and, in a bigger way, in Spain. See attached article on Spain. Oh, I don't know. If his intention is to demonstrate the idiocy of the legislation, then being open about taking every batshit step it permits is the most effective way to do it.

If I and other posters are correct about the lack of criteria in the legislation to prove, for want of better words, honesty and seriousness in changing gender marker, then he can't be sanctioned. And he probably knows that.

If the law allows multiple changes the only way the police force will win is to prove the individual officer was not in compliance with the law at the time of the application.

I am guessing if he can get the funding this is going to end up in the higher courts.

I am assuming german law gives defendents a right to legal aid? So if it is a "criminal" not an employee dispute that the officer will be entitled to access State funding to get a fair trial?

And anyway the male officer has proof of employer bias and discrimination when he is not picked for this promotion and the next few too
