Page 2 | Would a biological woman identifying as a trans woman be accepted in the trans community?

Just curious really if this is something that happens. And if not, what the argument (by trans people) would be against it. Sorry if it’s been covered before. Just been working through some stuff in my head and started to wonder about this!

If someone says "I'm female", or "female-only", maybe for a women in STEM mentoring opportunity, how do you know if they mean sex or gender?

Would it not be helpful to have different words for sex and gender instead of trying to force fit gender into services and language based in sex?

I guess if you don't believe a transwoman is an actual woman then it figures you don't think a woman could (in any meaningful way) claim to be a transwoman. The definition of transwoman is a man who wants to be a woman. A woman who wants to be a woman just is one.

So a “transwoman” is a man. Awesome. I don’t think anyone believes they are actual women. The proof is in what happens when women say no they are not women. Actual women are ignored and belittled. The men claiming womanhood are venerated and appeased.

You can no more transition from a woman to a woman as a man to a woman

So what is gender? Is it a load of outdated, sexist stereotypes? If so it should be binged. Is it a “feeling”? In which case why should it trump sex? Unless someone can define gender, what reason should we have for allowing those with a gender identity to enter soaces designated for the opposite sex?

What exactly does "a gender that doesn't aligns with a sex" mean?

Is it an inner sense of misalignment with ones body such that the body itself is "wrong", or is it not that the body itself is wrong but the knowledge that because of the social expctations around ones body how others see one does not align with how one sees oneself?

Is there any common factor between women other than belief/knowledge that one is "a woman"?

And if there are no common factors, where do common needs like the need for changing rooms based on gender come from?

Being a woman who identifies as a man who identifies as a woman doesn't make sense and just seems a bit tongue in cheek to the whole concept of being trans.

It makes as much sense as being a male-presenting transwoman.
