The reason for this is obvious. Susan is a director of FWS, they want to beable to say she’s a criminal. It doesn’t matter that it’s “only” vandalism, they just want the headlines “FWS director is a criminal”.

I hope she sues the arse of Police Scotland. Can she bring a private prosecution against the individual officers and any advisors, who made this decision?

Why don't the police use some joined up thinking in these situations? Loads of photos and video showing the umbrella was already broken ... there's evidence right there.

Rather like Glinner's Tarquin already having gone through a court case for compensation over having his phone damaged at a protest - and then alleging having a very similarly age and type of phone damaged in a nearly identical way by Glinner. What are the chances?

It’s that Tom bloke from cabaret of hate ( I think) he was drumming up dancing etc and being the spokesperson/turning up the music at the let women speak in Edinburgh. He was certainly enjoying being centre of attention.

Vandalism requires wilful intent or recklessness. There was clearly no intent or recklessness, she only touched it because he was shoving it in her face as she was on the edge of the water.

The damage to the umbrella was clearly there before the incident and you can also see that the section she touched had no damage.

i used to always think just cooperate with the police, nothing to hide nothing to fear etc. Now im more dont concede or admit anything, never accept a warning or caution without really good advice, and no comment at interview is sometime the most sensible thing to do.

At this point it's just a farce. Man goes to whack woman with a broken umbrella, woman defends herself, man goes to police to complain that she broke said umbrella despite video evidence to the contrary, police somehow think that this is a valuable use of their time.

Almost unbelievable. At this time of year you might think they'd be gearing up for all the firework related problematic behaviour if they can't find enough other crime to deal with, but of course non-crime umbrella incidents take priority. Police Scotland really are an absolute embarrassment.

As an aside, everybody knows an umbrella in Edinburgh is a disaster and you cannot expect them to last more than one winter. It's the first rule of Edinburgh, after 'avoid Waverley station' 😂
