Well what a surprise. It's long overdue for all police forces to recognise when they're being weaponised by trans extremists. For too long our supposedly impartial police forces have been pandering to these men hell bent on intimidating women.

There are groups which, taken broadly as a group, are in a position of relatively less power than other groups in society, and that can manifest itself in various situations e.g. in education, the justice system etc.. I have no problem with that analysis - though I don't accept that transpeople belong in that analysis.

So if a woman is raped by a man from a group which is considered less powerful in society, it's not rape?
When I was sexually abused as a child by a disabled man - I was able-bodied at the time - it wasn't sexual abuse because he belonged to a group which is less powerful in society than able-bodied people?
That's the 'logic' of transwomen who rape not being rapists.

The power imbalance which exists on a social level doesn't carry through to the personal level. On an individual level, in a case of male sexual violence, any broad unequal distribution of power which affects the rapist in other contexts is completely irrelevant.

Not that I believe that trans-identifying men fit into this at all, they have an inordinate amount of power and influence in society.

Jesus wept. The IO whimpering excuses like "reported in different divisions" doesn't cut it. Merging all the Scottish Forces was at least partly sold as a measure to prevent failures of communication like that, so why the hell are they still happening & why the hell does a DCI still imagine it's a viable excuse?

Exactly! You don't need to make contact to commit assault so the poking of the umbrella towards Susan was him assaulting her in the first place. Obviously her mistake was not getting her retaliation in first by making a complaint of assault to the police before he did.

I hope when she has her meeting with the police she points out Chris's interpretation of the law and that the guy was assaulting her with a weapon. Fortunately as she defended herself she was not hurt but why has he not been charged with assault or at least threatening behaviour? The noise he made and the refusal to reduce the volume means he should have been charged with antisocial behaviour - why did they not do so?

By that logic, his brolly counts as an extension of his body, and so, given its approach to Susan Smith before she touches it, he is guilty of assault. (According to my grandfather on being approached by someone waving a fist in his face but not quite touching, that would have counted as assault.) So she was using reasonable self defence.

Police Scotland said earlier reports were "mainly around the financial situation" and they were all treated in isolation - a situation it hoped "wouldn't be replicated now".

They hope it wouldn’t be replicated now?? How about they put robust measures into place to make damn sure it wouldn’t be replicated now. Unbelievable!!

God this is awful. To think they went after Susan for supposedly damaging the brolly, in the face of all the crystal clear evidence that she hadn’t - and kept going after her for quite some time - but they spent all those years doing nothing about this man and his genuine threats and genuine harm caused to women.

My response is usually anger or just laughing at how pathetic all the fuckery is, but this just made me want to cry.

Women put in literal danger, at least one woman actually raped because Police Scotland couldn’t be arsed to do their job, but they’ve got all the time and resources in the world to do the bidding of bullies like Harlow. He says jump and they eagerly ask how high.

I’m glad they’ve seen sense now (I wonder what finally prompted it?) but it’s absolutely insane they ever even countenanced taking action against her.

How much worse is it going to get before it really starts to get better?
