When I was a teen growing up in Singapore, the Little India area was notorious for sexual harassment. I unfortunately had to pass through the area to change buses on the way to school and the harassment was daily, men trying to touch you, rub against you constantly, even walking along the road. The culture has improved a little but I'd still advise caution as I would any woman travelling in India. I am of indian descent myself. It is absolutely not racist to call out predatory behaviour wherever it exists, in any culture or religion.

There was a question hanging over Hounslow borough council . Perhaps it will be part of the reopened investigation.

@Swiftasthewind Do you not believe culture plays a part in how men act towards women? Do all men treat women the same regardless of the culture they come from?

It confuses me that a section of the left do seem to think that all men are equally misogynistic regardless of the effects of culture yet they also tend to be big on educating men, like the types to say you should teach men not rape instead of teaching women what to do to prevent it etc. But surely education would be meaningless if all men are the same regardless of how they’re taught to treat women.

That sounds like men in general rather than anybody in particular. I’m sure women have experiences of the same thing happening to them in places like Plymouth or Buxton or Kendal, where there is no established Pakistani population to pin the blame on.

When DSD moved to Southall with her mum aged 18 she'd stay with us at weekends and started sounding more and more like Tommy Robinson. I was horrified. But then I asked her questions and started to better understand her change of attitude.

DSD had natural long blonde hair. She's tall and very curvy. Southall has a very large South East Asian community and she told me Asian men muttered obscenities and made disgusting gestures at her in the street all the time. They also bounced aggressively on the bonnet of her car at the lights. It seemed a young blonde driving her own car infuriated these guys. The whole business was really intimidating.

DSD is a Londoner (her two best friends were, etc ) and no shrinking violet but she found the environment of Southall really oppressive. Had she been younger i might have feared for her. She was very relieved when they moved.

Yes. I think part of the problem is that people generally lump all Muslims in together (especially the energetic virtue signallers ) so the ones with bad beliefs and behaviours gain protections from people feeling compelled to be extra nice to the decent ones and sometimes overcompensating.

Many Muslims in this country are here to get away from the hellholes that extreme Islamism create. Some Muslims in this country are here to spread extreme Islamism and take over our country. We end up facilitating the bad ones and often turning a blind eye (repeated first cousin marriage for example) to harmful behaviours because we daren’t upset ‘the Muslims’.

Working through all these thought processes is the talking only with people yelling ‘racist’ at us is so important. There is clearly an issue. The left want to solve it by telling us to shut up and submit to our fate. We want to talk and find a solution.

I think the best approach is to look at the ‘cultural motivation’ rather than the ethnicity. To educate those coming to the Uk about the law and cultural expectations towards women is a responsibilities of those communities.
The men coming to the UK to carry out these crimes are criminals in their own country and the Pakinstani communities know this. There have been some very vocal British born Pakistani women on this subject. Unfortunately fear plays a big factor here of being pushed away from the community if people do speak out.
Most law abiding Pakistani people are abhorrent at what has happened in their communities and would want these people removed form their societies.
This isn't about race its about ‘criminality’ But to try and cover up investigations for fear of ‘racism’ is wrong.

That's a bit impractical and imposing. I can't imagine feeling great if a man started asking me about my negative experiences with men in order to educate him. Not to mention it wouldn't be a way to prove your claim.

Sons partner grew up in West Yorkshire would agree that some people need to spend time in some towns to understand that women are less than human in some eyes.

I've learnt a lot from her family. She said to me once that it's annoying that her family accent marks them down as thick when in fact all the women studied at university, are high flying career women.

These women now middle aged were routinely sexually harassed decades ago as Bradford etc evolved, the grooming was inevitable apparently. Unless you ferried your daughter's from place to place and their friends you took risks.

I grew up in East Lancashire in the 1990s and there was grooming going on daily at the school gates. Teachers were not interested whatsoever.

There were huge gangs of Pakistani boys at school who were absolutely relentless towards white girls only: you can imagine the language and attitude.

Then occasionally there'd be a massive brawl between white lads/Pakistanis lads.
