Weird that you are lumping such a wide group of people in with football hooligans of the 70s/80s. It explains some of your comments though. I think you might be employing rather too many vastly sweeping generalisations in your attempt to dismiss people you have decided you don’t like for somewhat arbitrary reasons.

Why? The TRA carry lots of flags. What about pro Palestine crowd? They wave lots of flags. So both these groups are also “ flag shaggers? If not, why not?

I never developed an interest in watching any sport but rugby and from what I see there, at matches the aggression is generally confined to the pitch. Though tbf I hear some people have issues with rugger buggers at other social occasions.

Surprisingly I've seen some fairly aggressive support for cricket teams in the last couple of years, as pp says, it's faux/proxy tribalism as an excuse for a punch up in lieu of some other conflict of superiority.

So am I. The football hooliganism wasn’t faux patriotism, it was faux tribalism to “their team” papering over their desire to have a bloody good punch up with someone. Even now, I hear older footie fans of my team reminisce fondly of their younger days antics, like putting in all the windows of the opposing teams coach, or scrapping with the police. The same fans that complain that footie today is sanitised, even as we have safe, modern stadia and many more women and children coming.

“the English disease” is still going strong in Europe, we’ve managed to divert the hot headed testosterone laden aggressive men to other occupations in the UK. Although I would still avoid parts of Glasgow when there’s an Old Firm match on, but there’s a heck of a lot of sectarianism mixed in that one.

KJK and LWS really get under the skin of TRAs. So many posts and so many threads where metaphorical loudspeakers are used to try and drown them out. She must be doing something right to drum up so much ire from aggressive ideologists (including those claiming not to be).

I'm old enough to remember the football hooligans of the 70's and 80's, hijacking weekend footy matches and rioting, under the guise of patriotism. So thats why I have zero respect for anyone, no matter what colour they are, parading flags and claiming to stand for something that they don't really care about.

I can't take anyone seriously that uses the term 'flag shaggers'. Besides the fact that it's only used to mock those who display the union/George's cross etc, and never the thousands flooding the streets with progress/trans/Palestinian flags - it's on a level with petty insults such as gammon/snowflake/libtard and so on

Totally omitting the fact that not only did he turn up to join the men violently protesting LWS, but participated in the abuse by playing conductor to their yelling.

You pretended that you hadn’t said that and then doubled down with the dishonesty including saying that I supported Tommy Robinson. Then you started calling me ‘love’. You seem to have a short memory for what you are writing - it’s only one page back.

I have expressed several opinions in this thread. One of which is that I dislike dishonest smearing of KJK and LWS.
