A simple thought experiment - if women wanting sex based rights ever committed criminal damage in an attempt to terrorize and intimidate, would you see this as understandable (it's the 'just bantz' argument) or would you say this was wholly unacceptable and arrests and prosecutions should follow?

If a cross parent smashes a school window because they're fed up with a teacher or a school response?
If a cross patient smashes their local GP surgery window?
If a bunch from an organisation smashed a theatre window because they didn't like a play being put on?

Criminal damage is criminal damage. There are no special men with special cirumstances that entitle them to different law and treatment to everyone else. Much as they would love you to believe otherwise.

Yes, we all know that women need to be in that list of people currently feeling anxious, but completely agree with Greysky , it's a 'yes yes we know you're not happy women have rights, there there,', followed by a clear statement of no bias, available to all. I'm fine with that, we need it to become normal everywhere.

Threatening behaviour and criminal damage would be a police matter, and since they are on a remit of without fear or favour of course I'll expect arrests to now take place and charges happen as I would for anyone of any belief, race, creed, sex, etc etc. It's going to look a bit grim for the police and ministers involved and be a bit of a PR disaster if they don't act in a timely and sensible way, particularly as the receipts are everywhere. I'm sure the papers and Reform will be straight on it if presented with an open goal.

What I will wait for, I suspect in vain but would love to be wrong, for is any public message from any group or organisation representing people with trans identities that separates themselves from this kind of criminal behaviour, and makes it clear that this violence is not an integral part of identifying as trans. Not in my name, etc. But it's their problem if they choose not to be clear that this does not represent the community as a whole.

I do think we need to acknowledge that there is something called (for want of a better expression) "second tier terrorism". Smashing windows to intimidate women who want to talk is terrorism in a literal sense, but on the other hand I think it's important to not get carried away. It is not the same as what the IRA did in Brighton in the 80s or what ISIS do.

The women meeting up didn't cause this to happen.
The violent individuals did this 'because' they chose to prioritise violence and destruction over doing literally anything else.
