His poor wife and child. He really let them down, as well as his awful crime against Gisele Pelicot. There are so many utter shits of men.

katmarie · 10/10/2025 09:31

There is also the secondary benefit that this will hopefully put off any of the other convicted rapists in this case from appealing, which should spare Gisele Pelicot from having to go through this experience again.

Excellent

guinnessguzzler · 09/10/2025 21:51

Excellent news. What an incredible woman Gisele is.

Imbrocator · 09/10/2025 21:39

So thrilled to hear this. Too bloody right!

That's very good news. He deserves the extra year simply for putting her through the trauma of another trial.

Agree totally. What a scummy bastard he is.

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 09/10/2025 20:00

What a thoroughly horrendous man he is.

RyanFudgingMurphy · 09/10/2025 19:55

Fook around, find out.

Glad he's got his longer. Entitled fuckwit.

singthing · 09/10/2025 19:46

I find it horrifying. Horrifying that Husamettin Dogan thought he was so above the law that he would be able to get away with it, and even portray himself as a victim here.

The level of male fucking entitlement is off the scale. And this is probably not unusual. He really thought he could do this. He really, genuinely thought he could get a panel of judges and a jury to feel sorry for him and let him be.

That's the mindset we're dealing with. Scum like Wayne Couzens and his predatory ilk are a natural extension of Dogan - take it by force and don't even bother with the drugs, the chances of being caught are so minute it's worth it to get your rocks off. Not even counting the disgusting behaviour of so many complicit - actively or passively - men in the police.

SinnerBoy · 09/10/2025 19:38

It's only another year, but the important thing is that it was increased. I hope it's really burst his foetid little bubble.

Now, where's the number for the nano violin orchestra....

Tortelliniortortelloni · 09/10/2025 19:26

Excellent! Finally some good news.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 09/10/2025 19:12

The ego of the man! He deserves it. I have nothing but respect for Gisele and how she has stood up to these men.

eatfigs · 09/10/2025 19:11

Excellent news, serves him right. Hope he suffers tbh.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/10/2025 19:10

sassyduck · 09/10/2025 19:01

Excellent! Serve him right.

Devilsmommy · 09/10/2025 18:42

To have the nerve to stand there in front of Giselle and call himself a victim 🤨 so glad she's been able to know that all these scumbags have been punished for what they did to her

Is it possible in the UK for someone to appeal their sentence and get a longer stretch? It’s very satisfactory, particularly as others have said, when someone is forcing a rape victim through a second court case.

Not only is it possible but you can request a review!

The Unduly Lenient Sentence (ULS) scheme allows anyone to ask for certain Crown Court sentences to be reviewed by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) if they think the sentence is too lenient.

Yes it can happen in the UK too. The crown court is allowed to increase sentences that are being appealed but only inline with what the maximum could have been.
