Emma Watson actively encouraged people to give money to Mermaids even though it was public knowledge at the time that Susie Green took her 15 year old son to Thailand so he could have his genitals removed as a 'present' on the morning of his 16th birthday.

Watson isn't stupid and if she had done the bare minimum of research she could have seen the video of Susie Green laughing about the fact her son's penis never grew, because he had taken puberty blockers. They had to remove a third of his colon to construct a 'neovagina' for him.

Of course we've had the Cass review and puberty blockers are banned now, but how many vulnerable children took Mermaids seriously as a result of patronage by people like Watson who were too lazy to check the facts?

She absolutely loves herself, doesn’t she? Her excuses for getting banned from driving are priceless. I mean, we were all driven around until we passed our tests or managed to afford a car. Perhaps not in limos, but in our friends’ and families’ Ford Fiestas and Volkswagen Golfs or whatever. You pass your test. You follow the rules. Even if you don’t drive very often. Maybe you make the odd mistake. It’s as if she wants to dissociate herself from mere mortals who accrue points for being reckless because she believes she has a valid reason. She could at least own her shit, entitled driving style. Absolutely pathetic.

I’ll never forget how I cringed from the inside out when she made that horrible little aside about J K Rowling at the BAFTA’s. I really dislike what I know of her. Even if she ends up some day agreeing with JK, she strikes me as someone who will never apologise or acknowledge her mistakes.

I mean, my child was driven everywhere for the first 17 years of his life too, because hmmm, he was a child. Yet he, and all his peers who were also driven everywhere for the first 17 years of their lives, have all managed not to get 4 speeding tickets now that they have their licenses.

What really pissed me off was that, as far as I can recall, none of them ever spoke out against all the deranged abuse and threats she received and still does. Did any of them ever say, "I disagree with her on this but I'm appalled by all the threats and abuse and they need to stop"?

Yes. Like a coward she said nothing. She reminds me of those cowards in a group friends with a bully who does not speak up when things go too far, but goes along with the bully. We all know if EW received rape threats and death threats, she'd be giving interviews and crying on tv about how unfair it was.

This is good though. It shows someone can have more than one thought - more than one opinion.
That we don't need to cancel someone just because one of our many opinions opposes theirs.
More people should be allowed to say 'I believe in this... this person doesn't.. that's ok and we can still be friends!'
