Nup. She was a beloved character in the Harry Potter movies, but like many child actors, wasn't convincing, relatable or expressive enough to make the transition from child to adult actor in the business.

Her "feminism" didn't help her. It always looked like PR posturing without engaging with the basics of what feminism is about.

You would think that if people were secure in their arguments it wouldn't be necessary to smear women with dissenting opinions as perverse men but there you go…..🤥

In 2018, international and domestic NGOs collaborated to prevent the passing of the Trafficking of Persons Bill in India. This was heralded as a victory by the Netherlands-based Mama Cash, which claimed the bill, “conflated trafficking with sex work, which would have increased stigma, discrimination and violence against sex workers, reduced their autonomy and agency, and threatened their human rights”.

The campaign, part funded by Mama Cash, undermined the work of grassroots feminist activists in India like Vaishnavi Sundar. After years of working to stop the sex trade, Sundar, a documentary film-maker and activist based in Chennai, sees the halting of the anti-trafficking bill as a form of ideological imperialism:

“In a country that is known for its ineffectual jurisprudence where women fight for three or four decades for any legal recourse, it is disquieting to see Western organisations like Mama Cash siding with groups that further amplify women’s sexual exploitation. While ‘sex work’ may benefit a minority group, to halt a bill that could potentially save thousands of children over semantics is cruel and anti-women.”

It's interesting, because her money meant the option was there to stay out of this entirely. There genuinely are people who've been made to go along with trans ideology as a condition of keeping their livelihoods, but Emma has never been one of them. Not when she first decided to wade in, and not now either.

There's a certain type of man (Jolyon whatsisface and Boy George are also this type) who is absolutely fucking furious that a woman got money like this and earned it all from talent and skill (especially when she's now richer than they are). Not a marriage or inheritance. They can just about take it if she's an actress or singer, but to do it the way JKR did it AND remain incredibly generous and philanthropic and creative... it blows their minds. It enrages them. How fucking dare she.

I think a lot of people burnt bridges with JK when she was being vilified for stating facts. I don’t think I’d forgive people who jumped in the pile on. It wasn’t conciliatory tweeting about how we can all agree to disagree then.

Now that a good plan has come together it should be mutual respect for trans differences? It’s the new version of be kind and shut up.

Being beautiful isn't an achievement, and she is wealthy because of JK Rowling. Because JK Rowling created a fictional character who looked and talked exactly like 10 year old Emma Watson, which meant that 10 year old Emma Watson was given that role in the hope that she would develop some acting skills along the way. Spoiler: she didn't.

Emma is worth about £80 million. I doubt she is desperately touting for work.

Seriously, get over yourself. She’s the author of the most successful series of children’s books in the history of publishing, with a very successful line in adult fiction as well. She’s a noted philanthropist who has given away much of her fortune. She’s a singularly attractive and articulate high profile woman, committed to promoting the rights of women and girls.

All these factors make her highly newsworthy.

She's a dreadful actress and a so "called" defender of women's rights without knowing what defending women's rights actually mean.

Fortunately, she's such a bad actress, she is not getting the work in the business. Her apparent about face is nothing more than being an actress without work.

People like Emma Watson will never be able to pretend that they didn't jump enthusiastically onto this bandwagon.

Whereas people like Tom Felton and Evanna Lynch, who have been much more measured in their comments, will not be defined by it.

There's no way of knowing whether those cast members who chose not to stick the knife into JK Rowling did so because they believed she may be right about trans issues or because they felt they owed her a certain loyalty despite her views, but either way they conducted themselves in a much more intelligent and dignified way.

Presumably she’s backtracking now because the Supreme Court agreed with JKR.

JKR stuck up for women in a time where it was considered career suicide to even hint at any disagreement with TWAW. Not only career suicide, death threats, horrific online abuse for you and your children, book burnings and doxing.

Now that the tide has started to turn, mealy-mouthed celebs are coming forward to claim that actually, standing up for women may not be a bad thing and they always supported women's rights. A classic example of if you don’t stand for something, then you will fall for anything.

The silly little twerp was done yet again for speeding having already had 9 points on her licence. She came up with drivel about not really knowing how to drive because she's always been driven aroung.

She hasn't had an acting role since Little Women. I wouldn't call that "lots of acting". She was fucking awful in that, and in Beauty and the Beast. She can't even "carry" roles where she has to play a pretty brunette goody two-shoes, let alone anything more challenging than that.

She's done two modelling jobs for the same brand in three years, that's hardly a lot of work, is it?

I don't see the relevance of Jennifer Aniston. Jennifer Aniston has a successful career.
