Former MP Katie Wallis faces trial accused of possessing false passport

This is confusing, I assume it relates to obtaining a GRC and retaining previous documents?

''A former Conservative MP will go on trial next year accused of having a false passport during the time she was sitting in parliament.
Katie Wallis, 41, of Butetown, Cardiff, became the first openly transgender MP in the House of Commons in 2022.
She appeared before Newport Crown Court on Monday and faces two charges relating to the possession of a false passport.
The first is possession of an identity document with improper intention, "namely a British passport in the name of Jamie Wallis, that was false and that she knew or believed to be false".
The second charge relates to the possession of a false identity document in the name of Jamie Wallis "that was false".

I suppose using his original name is illegal because he’d have two official identities.

Perhaps he just wants to be like that ‘genderfluid’ banker (did I spell that right?) Philip Bunce, who was named as one of the Financial Times list of the Top 100 Women in Business a few years ago.

It can't be that as Wallace only came out as trans in Mar 2022 and continued to be called Jamie and use he/him for quite some time. The article says he is accused of being in possession of the fake document in April 2022.

It can't be anything to do with holding a GRC, as Wallis definitely didn't have a GRC during that time period.
