Christ alive i can hear the spittle hitting the phone.

no that’s a facetious throw away remark, we dont pay enough attention to that butter knife to be distracted away from him.

Problem with facetious throwaway remarks is that they're a bit like "banter" - best avoided in polite company unless you know everybody else agrees with you.

And when it's pointed out, best not to try to defend it...

I also don't understand why linking the alleged assassin's apparent relationship with a trans identifying man with the shooting happening when Kirk was discussing transgender violence is "a massive leap".

Seems a short step to me

NotMyNigelFarage · 15/09/2025 01:18

I say this as somebody who thinks self ID is a bonkers idea but also finds a lot of the GC contingent a bit monomaniacal.

If somebody is deemed to have been pushed over the edge by transphobic discourse then no doubt that discourse will be under the lens.

But how do
you know that? He’s also a member of a family, who he probably spends just as much time with as his partner. Quick! Lets examine the discourse of family values pushing him over the edge. Or better yet the discourse of gunowners? Or the glorification of violence and lone gunmen/ domestic terrorists by america.

admit theyre making a choice to focus on trans discourse for a reason. They could focus on any number of things, hes not even proven guilty yet. This is making news, under a guise of reporting it. Propaganda plain and sinple.

NotMyNigelFarage · 15/09/2025 01:15

Indeed. However, they now seem to be regarded by many as the face of all those who have concerns about immigration. I'm not sure it'd be great for GC people to get lumped in with the far right. Of course this may not happen but certainly some will be pushing that narrative.

Depends which papers you read. If you read Telegraph, Times, Mail you'd definitely see discussion of Islamist views.

And usually such discussion is seen as being 'racist' with much talk of 'gammons', flag waving wife beaters, and the 'Daily Heil'.

I think framing this as a 'pro trans' murder won't likely have the effect many think it will.

People are extremely reluctant to criticise perceived minorities so it's far more likely we'll be seeing articles about the 'transphobic backlash' and rise in hate crime against trans individuals.

This is exactly what happens following every terror attack. There is much reporting on the attack itself but you never see much in depth discussion of the radical Islamist views that drove the attacker. Certainly there will be much more discussion on how normal law abiding Muslims now feel unsafe. This will likely be the case with the transgender community here.

CK's death has already ignited huge amounts of discussion about his 'racist views' so I can absolutely see 'transphobic views' being discussed as well. Any widespread discussion and sympathy for the backlash against innocent trans and non binary individuals is highly unlikely to endear those viewed by the left as 'terfs'.

Oh well, and women campaigning for sex based rights were so popular with “the left” before! All we know is that he had a trans boyfriend. That may or may not have any relevance to his motivation.

Go back and read what I wrote and it will answer your latest question. Reading comprehension is a vital skill to practice after all.

It didn’t answer it, guess you need to help poor me and my bad reading comprehension out by making it clear what “massive leap” you are referring to. If you think it’s been made up that he has a trans boyfriend, you’re in cloud cuckoo land.

but at least were all distracted from Trumps stroke though eh?

You've just proven you don't care about evidence unless it aligns with your agenda.

Because it’s sooooo convenient to their anti trans agenda. And it’s a such a massive leap that even Sam Beckett is giving it side eye.

it hasnt been proven in a court of law that he did it or what his motives are. Yet trial by media out in full force.

i have been vocal on this site about my reticence to embrace trans rights when they are overriding women rights, and the needs of vulnerable women, but even I think this kind of narrative weaving is beyond ridiculous. Trans people are just people, not an enemy other to dehumanise and find reasons to hate.

The evidence against him is pretty damning. But yes, innocent until proven guilty.

InWalksBarberalla · 15/09/2025 00:19

Why is it nonsense? The shooter was in a relationship with a trans person and shot and killed Charlie Kirk as he was facing questions about trans violence. Why shouldn't the link be explored.

Its disgusting how the right wing media are trying to twist this to somehow be the fault of trans ideology. Do they not think we see it for the nonsense it is?

Maybe go tell that to those GC campaigners getting death and rape threats from trans people. They shouldn't speak out because it's "desperation" and they come across as "demented" when they should just be focusing on the "cause".

Well, that would be kinda illogical unless they're also doing what's being discussed here, which is desperately reaching to try and link this to trans ideology.

ThatZanyFatball · 13/09/2025 23:17

May have been lovers, and sounds like he knew ahead of time that it was going to happen.

Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin Tyler Robinson lived with transgender partner: source

Transgenderism is a world wide phenomenon but school gun violence is very particular to the USA as in 47 school shootings this year & its only September so falsely muddying the waters of culpability for political expediency isn't helping them.

I think this desperation to continually find dirt on trans people actually undermines the very valid points about self ID and women's rights and just makes a lot of GC people look a bit demented and bigoted tbh. It's not helpful to the cause.

Several of the immediate responses proclaimed "there's no relevance" !

If you want to know what the relevance is, why not just ask the OP?

Otherwise it rather reminds me of those throwing stones in Monty Python.

yeah it’s the GC people looking demented here, not the murderers.

NotMyNigelFarage · 14/09/2025 23:35

Well, I've yet to hear of the 'trantifa' lot trying to blow up theatres/churches/post offices full of innocent members of the public and actually causing deaths.
