Mandelson believed Epstein over victims and should go

This is a feminist issue. Mandelson has admitted that he chose to believe Epstein, who had at that point been convicted of sex trafficking children, over Epstein’s victims. Surely this choice makes him an unacceptable person to represent the UK? Why on Earth does Starmer think it’s ok to keep Mandelson in his position? I stand with the victims and it is not good enough for Mandelson to sheepishly apologise with the benefit of hindsight.

PM is only sorry he has got caught out. If he was truly sorry about the friendship he would have owned up sooner. He must have just hoped the evidence would never come to light.

Not buying the excuse of being a gay man either.

He kept referring to the victims as 'those women'.

Always found him to be a bit reptilian.

Glad to see this thread. Have heard surprisingly little comment otherwise.

He has to go. Political resignations/ sackings tend to happen on a Friday, as the newspapers only have a day to publicise them, and then there's a fresh start/other things to talk about by Monday. Only question is, IME, whether it will be tomorrow or whether they will hang in for another week to get more distance from Rayner's resignation. . .

Also his links with Epstein at a very basic level of security considerations would have made him vulnerable to blackmail.

Starmer should have acted days ago, instead he gave him his backing.

He will have excellent relationship with Trump, may know a thing or two about the president. This gives him and the UK leverage in dealing with the current US government. Keir Starmer knew exactly what he was doing !

So many men still think a middle aged man having sex with very young women is great and only wish they could do the same. It’s deeply disturbing.

Presumably epstein associates hide behind “well I didn’t know they were actually underage”.

From a huge number of sources we are aware that nobody being around epstein could fail to notice his constant consumption of teenage girls and his obsession with sex.

Anyone who was a friend of his should not be in public office.

He also hasn’t explained what he meant by ‘yum yum’ in his message. He wrote, ‘"taking you by surprise… in one of his glorious homes he likes to share with his friends (yum yum)”.

It sounds like some kind of weird sexual innuendo

Yes I agree and have been thinking this all night. Another example of how those women and girls were seen as having no value at all.
