And if as the main surgeon he says he’s having trouble with something to make an operation last longer, no one will question it. I wouldn’t be surprised if he found a way to film them too. Could be jumping to conclusions there but who knows...in the article, when he tells the other sicko that he doesn’t need to rewatch mutilations because his tastes had become more “exotic”, what does that mean?

I came across this article this morning when I was scrolling through Facebook while eating my breakfast 🤢 there's some very strange people out there....what on earth did he go through as a child to be like that? And the worst thing was taking all that insurance money when he did it to himself! Oh and of course putting his wife and kids though that too.
I guess we could say similar to those people who have really extreme plastic surgery. All very tragic really

Wasn't there an anaesthetist, possibly in South America, who sexually assaulted women who were under general anaesthetic. I think a nurse got suspicious of him but felt she couldn't report him until she'd caught him red handed.

Culture in the NHS isn't it? All sorts or reasons including power, lack iof sanctions/ consequences, lack of professional curiosity, demands to be kind or else, class, race and of course medical misogyny.
Given the sheer volume of issues (think maternity care scandals, numbers of sexual assaults etc) it's no wonder many of these men operate in plain sight.

You'd hope so. The thing that bothers me is that when someone has surgery, there is a whole surgical team in the theatre. You don't have a surgeon just doing an operation on his own. So surely those people would have known if he was engaged in inappropriate behaviour during surgery or making the operation last twice as long as it should do. Why haven't they come forward?

Patients don’t always remember the name of their surgeons. In the nhs you often don’t know your surgeon was, you may have seen the main consultant briefly but you know the surgery is often carried out by a member of their team. Even privately you often forget as the name is generally not relevant to remember after the event.

And no records of it at the hospital apparently.

Very important article. One woman was operated on by him for almost twice the expected length of time, dying under two weeks later. Another woman who was in agony during a routine private surgery for vein removal now wonders if he had given her anywhere near enough anaesthetic - and he weirdly waived his fee for her. Who knows how many more stories there are like these.

All those people who get done for fraudulently claiming disability benefits, they actually are suffering from BIID! The DWP should stop being so bigoted towards the trans-disabled.

There’s a Blocked & Reported primo episode from last week where Katie Herzog talks about this case, and some of the striking similarities with gender dysphoria. TBH, it does seem to involve a lot of the same metal processes, and is similarly resistant to psychological therapy and medication. She also points out that there’s a signifiant overlap with trans, and though he wasn’t mentioned who else remembers that guy (I think he was Dutch?) who was not only trans but got about in a wheelchair despite being able bodied?

It's sad that it comes as such a surprise when a trans activist is so honest about the consequences of blockers.

We know that hardly any adult men who transition have surgery to invert their penis, so obviously sexual pleasure is extremely important to them. Yet so many of them pretend they would have taken blockers given the chance.

Are you really suggesting that reading 50 Shades of Grey and having your legs chopped off for sexual kicks are in the same ball park?

Once good thing about Marci Bowers is that he's quite open about the fact that blockers cause kids to be sterile and inorgasmic.

"On the effects of puberty blockers, Dr. Bowers said, "When you enter a field like this where there's not a lot of published data, not a lot of studies, the field is in its infancy, you see people sometimes selling protocols like puberty blockers in a dogmatic fashion, like, 'This is just what we do.'"
Dr. Bowers said once a child begins the transition process, it's nearly impossible to return to normal.
"You're going to go socially to school as a girl, and you've made this commitment. How do you back out of that?" Bowers said.
In response to Shrier asking Bowers what her stance was on puberty blockers, Dr. Bowers said, "This is typical of medicine. We zig and then we zag, and I think maybe we zigged a little too far to the left in some cases."
"I think there was naivete on the part of pediatric endocrinologists who were proponents of early (puberty) blockade thinking that just this magic can happen, that surgeons can do anything," Dr. Bowers said.

"There are definitely people who are trying to keep out anyone who doesn't absolutely buy the party line that everything should be affirming, and that there's no room for dissent," Bowers said. "I think that's a mistake."
"Affirmative care" urges doctors to support patients that believe they are trapped in the wrong body, including young children. It's the idea that the patient knows best. In the past, psychologists treated gender dysphoria with "watchful waiting." This method of psychotherapy sought to understand the root cause of a child's gender dysphoria, attempting to help a child grow comfortable in their own bodies before allowing them to transition.
According to Shrier, Bowers said puberty blockers result in the lack of sexual stimulation, referred to as puberty blockade.
"If you've never had an orgasm pre-surgery, and then your puberty's blocked, it's very difficult to achieve that afterwards," Bowers said. "I consider that a big problem, actually. It's kind of an overlooked problem that in our 'informed consent' of children undergoing puberty blockers, we've in some respects overlooked that a little bit."
"I'm not a fan of blockade... I really am not," Bowers told Shrier. "The idea all sounded good in the very beginning. Believe me, we're doing some magnificent surgeries on these kids, and they're so determined, and I'm so proud of so many of them and their parents. They've been great. But honestly, I can't sit here and tell you that they have better — or even as good — results. They're not as functional. I worry about their reproductive rights later. I worry about their sexual health later and ability to find intimacy."
"My fear about these young children who never experience orgasm prior to undergoing surgery are going to reach adulthood and try to find intimacy and realize they don't know how to respond sexually," Dr. Bowers added.
