It related to economic crime - One of the act's main aims is to overhaul the companies registry in the United Kingdom to drive out foreign corrupt funds from the United Kingdom economy. The act is further aimed to counter fraud and money laundering.

It is most interesting that anti-slapp legislation was brought in for economic crime first. Its not a particularly well known area by the public. Only people with specialist knowledge of economic law are likely to have a good grasp of it.

That said there is quite a lot of political will to extent legislation to other areas.
