Yes, I was going to add to my post that she's not alone in that.

Nicola Sturgeon. A woman with a god complex who sucked the blood out of feminism to prove her useful to males whilst virtue signal how pure and progressive she is to try and secure a legacy she clearly feels should be on a par with Obama.

Oh and she like kilts.

I think the most astute observation is that Sturgeon failed at the thing that she was most confident in - that she was a superior politician.

"Like vampires who attempt to blend in undetectably with regular humans, successful politicians must understand the public mood, if only to mimic or manipulate it. Neither group can afford to slip out of touch with the real-life concerns of normal people. The lifeblood of politics is connection, feigned or sincere. You have to understand, or pretend to, the hopes and fears animating the populace you’re supposed to be serving."

That is precisely what happened to Sturgeon. One doubts her commitment to the trans cause - instead she'd made a catastrophic miscalculation and her greatest asset, her self-absurdness, turned to hubris and became here nemesis.

Self-absurdness is a fabulous word, Gallant :)

I have said this for years that I can't understand why she is considered a great politicians. I have never seen it. She won elections but then anyone who led the SNP during this time would have won these elections given that the unionist vote splits between several parties and roughly one third of the electorate will vote for the SNP candidates no matter what.

I have been so looking forward to this. I knew JKR would not disappoint. There is a seam of rich material that rivals Ukraine’s mineral sources so she was going to be in her element.

Would be tempted to say that on some level Dolores Umbridge would have been well played by Sturgeon but the character’s propensity for lauding pure breeds might have caused some consternation with the trans shite for our wee Krankee.
